OK. Joking aside, they make shooting glasses that are much more comfortable than a patch. Check brownell's shooting supplies. I am wearing a pair on page 3. But I have my left eye blinder up to inspect my reloaded ammo. When you are ready to aim, just flip the blinder down and Wha-Lah! The glasses are totally customizable on the fly for whatever the situation with parts interchangeable from left to right. The more options you have, the more expensive they can get, obviously. They can as much as $300, I think.
the problem with the glasses (im a target/self defense shooter) is that in the real world, you arent gonna have time to go grab your specialty glasses, and youre gonna want both eyes open- at least with a pistol and someone breaking into your house. same thing with glasses... i had prescription glasses but got rid of them- if i wake up in the middle of the night to a bad dude in my house, the last thing im pausing for is glasses (obviously this varies for those with poo for vision, but you get my point). i try to learn to work around every disability ive come across. does it make me a slightly less shot? probably. does it make me more capable to defent myself in an emergent situation? yes. is that why i have guns? yes and no. i wouldnt have one if it wasnt for defense, but i enjoy it too. part of the joy is striving to get better, and part of getting better is overcoming obstacles. if i was born perfect my life would be boring.
