A reference to see how much I suck! :) LOL

I mean...19 out of 20 were on the target paper in about a foot group, my last 5 I put on the right target of the paper in about 8 inches. Soooo...*shrug*

Remember, standing at 25 yards, I just wanna know if i was completely pathetic there, or maybe optimistically average :D

Just got back from shooting. Might be able to get some target photos up from today.

Reference being that it's 100 yard shooting, not 25.

Went out there with my Rifle Dynamics AK, M1 Garand, and Model 70 in .270 Winchester.

I can't imagine shooting 100 yards standing at this point LOL I guess I am pretty new, and I'm shooting iron sights.

Very nice for you though.

To be fair, the Model 70 and the AK are optics-ized. And I shot the model 70 from sand bags (I use the model 70 for deer hunting, and the stand we built up on the farm property allows for shooting from an improvised rest).

The M1 is 100% standard government issue though, aside from the sling (just a standard leather sling from a sporting goods store). It's exactly the way a soldier would have taken it through WW2.

Sorry to break thread topic, but dad showed this to me, and I kinda liked how this cop handled it

Now dad made a good point, and I agree with him. If I was to carrying a gun, I am carrying it to protect myself. And if someone approaches me with a gun( cop or not), I'm gona be a little defensive. And I would not let the cop(in this case) take my gun. I would have my hands in plane sight and remove and show my gun clear.

Now obviously situations like this are ALWAYS tense, and you have to "feel" what the cop is doing. He is concerned about his safety and you are concerned about yours. SO on aggressive moves should be made, and this guy and cop handled it well. There is always give and take signs in situations like this, and both guys read each other very well.

Say ten, if your looking to improve your iron sight skills you could try the Appleseed program at http://appleseedinfo.org/ I have heard a lot of good things about it, I'm actually trying to get my wife to go with me to the next one they have.

Appleseed shoots ROCK, but a .22 is a good investment if you go that route. You do a lot of shooting, and even x54R adds up.

EDIT: And Ten, if you want to feel woefully inadequate, then I have to relate a feat of Marksmanship by one Eric Pfleger of Suarez International. This guy.

That is a photo of him slinging up for a shot at a class he helped teach. He landed a shot on a man sized IPSC target on a target. At 1000 yards. Not once, but TWICE in the same day.

YESSS!

:) I get 20 in each pouch of the mosin ammo belts, and it game with 2 so I can carry around 80 rounds.

Now...I need to know where to get stripper clips, even though that'll probably make me hold less ammo in the pouches...but oh well.

Yeah "they" say the new production ones don't work very well compared to original war production ones.

Thanks for the link though! :)

I had heard those ones were different. Maybe not?

I found it here: http://www.mnguntalk...php?f=8&t=22767

Honestly, I don't know how they do. I haven't tested them.

I tend to load mine by hand. For the time it takes to line up the clip, I can thumb 3 or 4 rounds in. You don't lose a lot of time. A Russian WWII bolt action isn't a rapid ROF rifle. That's why I have the AK.

I am now certified by the NRA as a pistol instructor. Which also means I can teach Minnesota's permit to carry class.

Good day for sure.
