Certainly is. I got mine for $65. But I would pay a little over $100 for another one.

Agreed, they were out of M44s when I asked. All they had left were the 91/30 variants, and I'm not looking for a rifle that is almost as tall as I am. I'll have to make the rounds later. I'll be keeping my eye out for one.

So help me God, I will have a new rifle soon.

Ouch. I thought that was about half that much...

And I thought that $160 for 600rds of .40 S&W was expensive...

Well it is about the size and power of .308. Figures it would run the same price too.

You can thank Obama for that. Gun prices are way up as well, if they are even in stock. Most of my local gun stores were cleaned out a few weeks after the election

Hmm, I may have to get a pistol caliber carbine if I can't find a surplus gun I want. Ammo is much cheaper.

And also, I wonder if I'd need to get a Pistol Purchase Permit from the sheriff's office if I bought the components of a 1911 and just assembled it myself?

The only role Obama played in that was his existence. He had no executive power until months after the election. If you want to thank anyone for it, I would recommend turning to all the gun nuts who freaked out and drove demand sky high. It funny, they buy everything in sight then blame Obama for there being nothing left when he has done literally nothing other than live. or you could blame the gun and ammo stores for forseeing this mass panic and using it as an excuse to inflate their prices.

or you could just come to indiana where you don't need a license to buy anything and there is only a 10 minute waiting period while they run the background check.
