Ok, a friend is moving to another country and is starting his paintball experience all over again, so he offered me a bargain price on his Ego6, we went and checked if it had any flaws and its all running good, I've used both guns, but only for a day or less, I've been using closed bolt markers until now. So It'd be very apreciated if you guys could answer the poll according to your experience, If it's worthy I'd be keeping the ego 6 as a backup and a test to get introduced to open bolt markers. I got an 06 ego a couple months back. The 07 probably has a little newer technology but i dont think its got that much more mechanicaly, its probably mostly with the board. Last month i put a Tadao Yakuza board in it because the stock board went bad and i think it keeps up with all the newer egos and DM's at the field i play at. I would say to go with the 06 and if you want it to shoot faster get the Tadao board for it.

BTW what kind of deal are you getting on the 06. I picked up mine for $400.

thanks for your response, I'm getting the Ego 6 , a dye tank cover, proto 7 pants and jersey, dye C6 bag (the big one), dye peanut air tank, and an almost new empire E-Vents all for $450. I have everything but wanted to try the marker, anyways its kind of a big deal I couldn't let escape.

BTW i posted this thread here because of it mentioning the Planet Eclipse brand, I thought about making it on the high ends but I saw the brand name in the cocker forum, anyways I don't need it to shoot faster, I play tournaments with psp rules so if I ever use ramping I settle it from 12 to 15 bps, so that's not a big deal.

The ego six and 7 is big differnece.

They switched from the little sensor to micro switch....it feels better when you shoot imo and can shoot faster.

Its also lighter alot more milling and alot smaller...the 06 and 05 are very similar while the 07 and 08 are very similar.

I only shot my 06 twice with the stock board before it died on me. The Tadao board uses a micro switch and is suposed to monitor the switch for trigger pulls at 4 million times a second wich makes the trigger response time amazing.

Well at the end I'll be buying the 06, and will save to get the 9 when it comes out if I like Ego, I've always thought it's an awesome marker, and want a change from all these DM's I've used, thanks again for your posts guys, they've all been very useful.

tried both

and tried 07 with stock board and 07 with tadao board
and 06 with virtue

the 07 felt way better in my hands

but for 450 that amzng deal with everything

Both are very nice, its a different feel, the 07 weighs almost nothing, while the 06 feels like you have some thing solid in your hands. The 06 is like a ford while the 07 is like a porsche, if you know what I mean.
