Beware they have a break-in period of about 2 thousand shots, the only reason I didn't suggest it, but after that a great regulator it just might act up for a while or it might not its in the cards.

I've heard a standard reg has about a 2000 shot break in, but a Detonator can be upwards of 5000. Just to put that out there... grab a used one

Haha RIB-OFF! Er wait... wrong sport.

Nah... I'm going of hearsay, here. Original estimates were putting Detonators upwards of 6000, before becoming +/-2fps consistent. Supposed to be good after 2000, incredible after 6000. But again, I've never grabbed one. Just tossing out my 2 cents.

We could make a cocker trivia game. Betcha it would get interesting fast.

And everyone would be confused. Come to think of it that would make a good sticky, random, endless info.

Hmm... indeed, it would.

Of course, it would probably turn into just copying HaveBlue's cocker tech website into a thread... screw pitches, valve depths, throat clearances, etc. Oh, and if you happen to be wanting a BEAUTY of a cocker, PM me... I saw one for 150 that I am unfortunately just too poor to buy. I need a job... KAPP frame, AKA internals, and just hot anno on a RF body.

Tempting, but I'm still after a car. Why have the gear if you can't get to the field.

Good call. I don't have a car; I'm just trying to pay rent.

I was kinda thinking though, I don't really want to screw around with the pneus, because I hear you can easily snap a hose barb, in which case you're BOINKed over, so now I'm not so sure about getting the pump kit. Is it really that bad?

Alright, thanks for the advice!

I'd heard things about that and I wasn't so sure...

Speaking of upgrades, I got some red macro and fittings from ANS and I have some questions.
1. What sealant should I use? Will Teflon tape do?
2. How tight should I tighten the fittings?
3. How should I determine the length of the macro/cut it?

I generally use teflon tape (1.5 wraps works for me) plus 2 drops of BLUE loctite (the removable kind). However, macro fittings come with sealant already on them, so for the first time you screw em in, no teflon/ loctite needed.

Cutting macro, always cut an inch longer than you think you'll need. I generally stuff it in one fitting, stretch it to the other fitting, and cut it 3/4" past the front of the fitting... but for the first time around, cut it half an inch to an inch longer than you think you could POSSIBLY need, because it requires a bit of slack to get a tight connection, and cutting it too short is never fun.

Success! Thanks for the help.
I managed to properly install the macro. No leaks what so ever.
It was a bit of a pain, because I was unsure how tight to tighten them so I ended up screwing them in and out a couple times... Unfortunately, the bottom cap on my reg. is now firmly screwed in and I can't get it out without like a strap wrench... scratched some of the anno on the reg too...
