This isn't relative to the immediate discussion, but does anyone else love the way AEGs sound when captured on film? Especially from a distance of 15-25 feet, and especially TMs. It's such a wonderful noise.

Yes, they do sound pretty awesome on film. Hear some real AEG's out on the field from even 5 feet away, when all you hear is the clack and bang with none of the whine... it's so great.

Ion, your gear's not too bad. I'd suggest picking up an LBV harness or a Plate Carrier, with pouches and web belt too. The backpack is cool, but combat-inaccessible in any firefight. I'd focus on the Necessities: LBV Harness or Plate Carrier MOLLE System, Holster, Pouches, AppleBee's Roadside To Go!, and your camo. Hydration pack is certainly a good thing to have too.

My gear is also my camping gear, so its not all airsoft and all camping its mixed. But I actually like the G36(I usally hate them). I need some gear, I hate my current vest(I'm left handed and it has a radio pocket on the left shoulder). I was thinking about a molle vest so I could just attack some pouches.

Gear list that I am hoping to get done by next summer
A&K M249 PARA
some molle vest with M16 pouches
new pair of the marine digital camo
3 slings(M249,M16,M14)
maybe a glock 18 or 26 GBB

EDIT:Maybe soon I will go to the airsoft field around me with my friends, just a little nervous and shy.
Found the A&K M249 for $215

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're mature, and respectable; who cares?

Probably a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

I'm looking at maybe getting a gun to mess around with my buds who aren't as into paintball as I am, but still want to shoot at each other. Which means, I'm looking to spend less than $200, at least on just the gun. Would ANY of the guns on AV be viable, for a guy who might play with the gun 5 or 6 times in the next couple of years?

I'm looking for a bolt action rifle. Seems kinda silly, I know, but I promise it's not that 1337 sn1p3r thing. No scope. I've just always liked that feel. Iron sights and bolt action just really rub me the right way. So I'm probably a springer guy, right? There's a couple spring rifles on AV...

If you want a bolt-action rifle, you're going to pick up your own iron sights. The Dboys K98 is the biggest piece of junk out there, rivaling the Super9. I seriously think you should be looking at an AEG, and limit yourself to semi-auto. However, if you're really going to pick up something bolt-action, pick up a TM VSR and some iron sights. It hits around 280 fps, and can upgrade in the long run with lots of parts for a very long range and higher fps. Stock however, you won't be outranging anyone.

Another thing you can do is the Echo1 M1014 shotgun. They're around 390 to 430 fps, and outrange other AEG's.

Just keep in mind though, with a stock bolt-action rifle, you're not going to be impressing anyone, nor will you be outranging anyone. This is why I recommend AEG's to people instead.

So, that's a heck no on the Action Village guns? And you're saying I have to buy the iron sights separate?

I think you misunderstand my intentions. See, I think my pals are just buying pistols, so the last thing I want is to have the cheap bastages complaining that my gun is the only reason I can shoot them, or bugging me to let them have a turn with it. I... don't share? Well? I don't share well, yeah. But I'm definitely not trying to outgun or impress them. I just figured a spring, bolt-action rifle would be fairly inexpensive but still reliable and effective.

I DID, however, see that TM M14 you recommended for Klown, and would consider it if I came into a little more money than I'm expecting to make serving lattes to fat people. If I seem too needy, we can move this to a PM convo.

Well if they're buying spring pistols then you could do a couple things.

You could check into some gas pistols, there's some good, cheap ones that don't "blow back". they're called NBBs. GBBs are the ones that blow back.

If you don't want even semi-auto, you could go with any spring gun that's quality. The TM VSR is by far the best spring gun out there in terms of reliability, performance, and quality compared to the amount of money you pay. However some cheaper guns will shoot harder (stock) but not be made as well.

The UHC MP5 is known as one of the absolute best springers for the money, and it is an excellent choice. If you're going spring though, I'd suggest any shotgun mainly because you'll be able to get a high rate of fire compared to other springers.
