they should give you an extra sear or 2 with the parts that come with the gun. cause they tend to wear down very quickly.

On a 98C? I still have my stock one in, been in there for 7 years and 260,000+ rounds. Still square, not rounded.

you must have a good sear then. ive gone through 2 sears for my 98 custom before i got rid of it. and a brand new 98 custom with about 1500 rounds, the sear was damaged after that many rounds. i must be an anti-sear

Good job Tippmann! You have to give them credit... They do have a way with improving on good markers. I want one now, so I don't have to keep splitting the receiver halfs to tinker with the internals, plus having to loosen the ASA TINKLEes me off for some reason. And it is available in a digi camo.

Correct, but you still have the ASA issue to deal with. And it is nice for those individuals who don't want to go cutting on their marker.

I wish they could of fixed the problem with the front sight spring ejecting itself every time you pull it aprt. other than that its nice to see some fresh changes.

overall I'm proud of tippmann on this one. they've built on the 98's flaws to make, seemingly, and even better marker than the 98 already is.

some things I like:

- the new split-receiver design
- the fixed sight spring (thank god!)
- the easy attachable flatline barrel
- the picitanny rails

things I'm going to gripe about:

- was it too much to take a note from BT's book and make a removable front grip?
- I doubt the new stock barrel is much better than the old one, excusing the new porting

Questions:

- is the end cap still removable for stocks?
- will body shrouds still fit the new 98 without modding?
- why did it take so long for tippmann to come out with a marker like this?

overall, my hopes for this new marker looks promising. best of luck to Tippy.

I'd rather have the 'rental' version...seriously, that rail is ugly

What do you mean by that? Its just as removable as any other 98...unless you're talking about total removal.

He means 'removable' like the BT-4's foregrip: with the picitanny rails and such, and no lip sticking out after removing the grip.

Im really likin this New 98.

And even though the Split Body Idea has been around for years...we can now thank the Awesome Guys at Model98.org, they were the ones that started it all back in the day and now Tippmann is finally Realizing that us "DIY Modders" are the Driving Force in making the 98 Custom look 10x better than stock.

But I still see one thing they havent really worked on.....that ever annoying & ugly as hell Foregrip, sure they said its been improved...but not to me.

That Rail kinda looks like the one I have on my M4-98.

And finally a Screw In Flatline Barrel.

As for that End Cap Sling Mount....my End Cap Sling Swivel is still better than theirs
