Sounds like Tippmann's finally making some real improvements to the 98. Good on them... it's getting tiring seeing all of the "new" clones coming from them - the Triumph and the US Army (Alpha Black or something?) line cloning the 98, and the X-7 basically cloning the A-5 but with a few extra features.

they should give you an extra sear or 2 with the parts that come with the gun. cause they tend to wear down very quickly.

On a 98C? I still have my stock one in, been in there for 7 years and 260,000+ rounds. Still square, not rounded.

Same here and the only parts Ive replaced in the 4 years of having and using the 98C, is the Main Drive Spring and the Power Tube.

I've never had to replace anything on a Pro Carbine in 8 years.

Heh, It took years to build their reputation because they weren't all that exceptionally reliable to start off with. SMG 60's feed system was a pain, and the lack of a trigger safety was really poor design. By the time they came out with the 68 special their main competition were Automags, VM-68s and maybe a few Typhoons. Again, among that crowd they weren't that exceptionally reliable. Especially in a market full of Sheridans and nelson clones. Both of which I consider to be pretty reliable. It was only when semi-autos started getting cheap and companies like Kingmann started making semi-autos available for everyone did the reliability of a Tippmann stand out. If you ask me, the reputation of reliability has gone down since the clamshell models started coming out. The older one piece designs used a lot nicer materials both inside as out. They don't even come with metal power tubes anymore - a key component if you wanted to run the gun on straight liquid.

Tippmann will always have their niche in the market. I'm sure it will be a nice little boost for the 98 custom lineup. It fixes a lot of the discomforts of the modifications that came out after the model 98's release.

Hopefully it will be part of their media library. I will be at work at that time frame and I will miss the launch.

I saw that jag. I am curious as to what the new valve design is. I also like the fact they changed the recievers a bit. Judging by the photo it looks as though the left reciever has the "quick strip" mod done to it already.
