If I'm in a game with re-entry (scenerio) I go out and reload. If I'm in a short elemination game I'll usually stay in. Especially speedball. Can't let them think they have a man advantage. It makes a difference.

If I run out of paint, I can usually find someone to get paint from someone. The only time I would call myself out would be during a scenario because you can get back on the field relatively quickly. Usually during the final game of a scenario, there's an all out battle. I always either run out of paint or air but I never leave the game. I'll throw nades if I got them or I swtch to my sidearm.

I'm a sapper so if I run out of paint and/or air I just find a bunker or path and set-up another booby trap or land mine or I try to find someone I can take out with a grenade. I always have traps and grenades on me. If I run out of those I'll just stay in the game and reek as much havoc as I can. I can't see leaving a game just because I'm out of paint or air.

paint - get paint from a team mate
air - I never run out. I have an 88/45 on the marker and a 114/45 on my back w/ remote. If I run out of air, it's because I blew a burst disc or something that would HAVE to take me off the field.

Wehn I use my Tippy I always carry a spare disposable 4oz Co2 tank + adapter with me just in case.
Lifesaver. Not so easy when you're using a marker that only runs on HPA though.

If I run out of paint, I just keep on playing! Most times, people don't discern between dryfiring and regular firing, so I just keep at it. Gets them out of paint, at least. If I'm out of air, being a decoy works well, as does my throwing arm.

you can either throw paint or try to surrender/barrel tap people

or if you're playing CTF you can just set down all your gear and make a flag run

I Call Myself Out, why...I play Scenario Games, cus anyone that plays in Big Scenario Games knows they can take always return to the Firefight after Reloading and Refilling and if one doesnt feel like going back onto the Field, he/she can Chill at the Staging Area or at their Camp Site, eat a little, converse with other players or the Vendors, catch up on some Z's...a few hours later, he/she can return to the Field and the Firefight is still Raging On.

I agree in scenerio. However I think what's missing in this thread is the "ultimate solution." When almost out of air or paint I suicide run. This is very common to me.

If I'm out of air I:
Pretend I still have air or
Change my 12g. :P :D

If I am out of paint I:
borrow some
Pretend I still have some

I'm back from a long long long time of no paintball, drooling over markers older then I am.

When I'm out of air - I go into decoy mode.

When I'm out of paint - I shoot air to keep the heads of the less experienced players down until I can get some paint.

I typically do as much as I can to stay in the game. I try to stay well prepared so I am often the one giving paint to other players who have run out. My explanation for choosing "other" is : I carry a sidearm to use in such emergencies.

never ran out of paint or air but I have had gun malfunctions and the like that would keep me from playing. One time I tried out a lil speedball field here and my tank's oring broke...so technically I ran out of air. but That was the only time I left the field. other than that...no retreat, no surrender

i pull out my k-bar and go to town...okay, not really. i get barrel tags, i run recon, flags and decoys, heck, i've even acted as a human shield before (now THAT was painful). i ran outta paint, crossed a 40 foot deep, 50 foot wide ravine, and got two barrel tags before the other team noticed that i was getting their guys out.

I'll throw my gun or helm (If I have one) at the other team like the Sergeant in saving private Ryan, that was my all time Favorite part of the movie.

There is plenty to do instead of giving up, I'd borrow paint/air, if I had a Video cam on me I'd just film, I'd flank/run past the opposition which should lure a few people away thus could give my side at least a small advantage.
