[Marine Scout Sniper]

I have a 98C.

I'm wondering if it's possible to find a cheap spring M14 airsoft and strip it out and make my 98C into an M14

I'm sure there's some cutting involved but would the internals fit only or could I mount it somehow to the 98 without removing the 98s internals?

In theory it can be done, but you will have to remove allot of stuff, including the barrel, front end parts, and most of the receiver area.

If you truly want an M14 you would be better off to get a real M14 stock and build the trigger parts and gas piston for the front. The 98 custom works very well as a drop in marker, all you need to do is cut the bottom of the marker off, including both the front and rear grips and then build a new trigger with an extension to the old trigger.

The last M14 I built used an A5 base. Unfortunately we had to use a long 20” barrel, which caused a slight loss in performance.
We have had great luck with the 98 being dropped into Carbine stocks like the M1 Carbine or the Mini-14.

Another nice thing with the 98 is the loader set-up. When you drop a marker into a stock you will not be able to remove the barrel very easy which makes it hard to clean during a game. With the 98 you can swing the loader out of the way and run a squeege into the breach without tacking off the barrel.

Yeah I thought about some of that.

My thoughts were since I have an expansion chamber I can put it where the airsoft magazine goes so that the expansion chamber sorta fits into the whole idea in a way.

As for the grip I could leave it alone. Having a pistol grip with it would be more like shooting an M14 DMR.

No offense or anything, I'm sure it looks kick-butt, however I'm not spending 600 bucks on a McMillan DMR stock plus the cost of other parts to make it look legit.

If I go that far, I'd be taking a friend that's an ex-marine with me to Quantico to get the real thing. But while I'm at it I'd get an M40A3

For the love of (insert preferred diety here), please do not desecrate the Tippmann 98 custom with plastic airsoft parts! I will make you custom parts if I have to, just please, if you love your 98 at all, don't make it suffer like that...

Yeah I talked to Engler. They want 900 for just a kit to be made. I ain't spendin 600 I sure ain't spendin 900.

That's just an absurd amount of money, both figures are.

Kalibur if you can make me a fiberglass DMR stock and the appropriate parts for about 60 bucks I'll take it.

But I doubt that's gonna happen.

im actually going to be goin down a similar road to this, im going to probably go for a cheap side cocking blowback(you'll understand why later in the post) im going to actually probably make a couple of fiberglass blanks of my stock(for a couple trial changes(like a sliding stock, to replicate closely as possible to the M14 SOPMOD) add/build a wrap around style weaver base that'll be removable .... but my plan with using a cheap side cocking(or even an open bolt top cocking marker) is to keep the charge handle on it, and make it somewhat realistic, it wont cycle exactly like the real deal, but it WILL cycle, which i think would be a nice touch, and i havent seen one personally to date to throw in such a small detail that would add a whole lot to the look and feel.

Well I have a Tippmann and not an AGD. You sometimes gotta use what's right in front of you.

Sides, I can make a stick feed for the 98 and I am making one to be point blank about it.

AGD ain't the only ones that can accept them

I have a feeling it would be a little more work for a 98 custom but with a little custom work its possible
