i've heard talk about flamethrowers:basically huge water tanks filled to the brim with a nozzle to squirt.One of the problems is that rich ppl don't like getting their fancy equipment wet plz answer the poll

It's not just "rich people". MOST people don't like to be covered head to toe in a single blast. So please don't go stereotyping.

Thus y flame throwers anrt more common, they have a lot of problems with them and thats y there not used very much, if at all.

This isnt even a position either and wouldnt become one as well.

that and honestly they would be pretty inneffective unless we are talking about a very close quarters situation, seeing as a paintball will be able to fly farther than the liquid simply being sprayed

though if you want to be a flamethrower please go for it, I would love to shoot a flamethrower :)

oh and one question, why would this be useful on tanks? last time I checked burning the shell of a tank didn't do a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.

and JackRock is right, no one likes being coated in paint

actually, it usually uses water and paint.and it is fired FROM the tank,though it can be used on tanks as well as bunkers.

If someone soaked me with paint sparying like a water house I would probably want to meet you in the parking lot after the game...if i had the patience to wait that long. That has to be the worst idea ever. No one wants to be soaked, especially if you get blasted on the first games. Then what? walk around for 6 hours dripping in paint? Not to mention that this would cuz lots of damage to personal property. Some things arent supposed to get wet.

this has already been suggested, it's not that practical...
...sigh...too bad, it's always been my dream to engulf the opposition with more paint than a benjamin moore's store holds...
really, they would only be good for SEVERE scenarios, where you could use one to, say, "burn" down a building or "burn" foliage and trees where the enemies lie in... just a thought

as cool as it is, the flamethrower is just not compatible with our great sport. it's a pity, really, but that's just the way it is.

Well I'm in the crowd of yep it'd be fun, but really just don't have the time to deal with putting one together.I asked the owner of my local field about it a while ago and he said go for it.The real issue was building something with decent range yet a very small stream to keep from soaking people down.Really all that is needed to make the flame thrower feasible is to get the range out there to about 60-70 ft. then the flame thrower can compete with the normal players at "urban" and close range games.Pretty much the majority of most scenario missions.

And of course with my recent luck of being bunkered, I wish I'd been sprayed in the crotch with paint rather than get nailed point blank and having to crawl back to my camp.

I say give flame throwers to people who normally have aggressive behavior and add one more cool dimension to the game.

I am tottally against the flame thrower idea. Yeah it would be fun, for the one shooting it, but im looking from the one being shot at perspective. As said before when someone wants to get wet they dont play paintball. The closes thing to a flamethrower that I would allow is a shotgun.

still, the flamethrower idea is not that practical, something about having to get within 40 feet of teh target does not appeal to me
