.50 cal is 12.7mm
Speedballers say: Our paint will block out the sun. Woodsballers say: then we shall fight in the shade.

dislexiclawyer: Im thinking about doing the same to my rifle with the stock, but Im not sure how to do the checkered grips. Any advice?

Well what I did was hit it with a furniture re-finisher and green scrub pad to get all the old stain and stuff off. Then I sanded it down and put 2 coats of stain on it. I really don't know how you would go about getting in the checkering though. I would say letting it sit in some of the remover, but I don't know if that would be bad for the wood or not. Just using the remover and a scrub pad might do the trick but I'm not sure. I would try and find someone who has refinished a stock like that and see what they have to say.

I don't have any pics, but I have a 410(pump) and 12 gauge shotguns(single shot). The 12 was my dad's.

Funny thing that was empty from the night before. After the gun cleaning it was back to another, my bud thought he was cool and tried to do the keg toss into the back of his pickup and ended up shattering his rear window.

But anyways Alcohol and Firearms do not mix. I almost learned the hard way.
