The idiots who want t get a marker because it hurts more are the same idiots you go beyond bonus balling. They're also the ones that are out there freezing the paintballs typically and the are all punks. The whole turning it up for accuracy isn't true. I've never heard of that argument. If anything, higher velocity will cas the ball to deform when fired making it less accurate.

What really kills me is that when some of these kids get caught with their markers shooting hot, they cry about it. I saw one kid refuse to go off the field. The ref had to grab the back of this kid's jersey to get him off the field. The whole time this kid was like I've got my tools right here, I'll fix it. Understandably, the velocity can creep up. I had my A5 set for the 285 fps and 2 hours later, it was up around 290. Of course, I ended up losing the velocity screw that day.

One thing that some of these individuals need to realize is that some one out there is waiting to get hurt by one of these idiots. There will be a law suit and there will be an attempt at criminal charges.

Paintball does not need another black eye. I certainly don't want the sport banned but law makers don't look at the good they will only see the bad. That's generally all they ever see, is the bad. These idiots need to realize that they could possibly ruin the sport for millions.

Sgt. Hoot, cool banner in your sig!

 B) :panzer:

Also, that mask was pretty messed up. I can't even see what happened to it. The lens cracked and the lens frame seperated from the mask, right?

Our field rule is 270FPS. It's a nice range for the area...there are plenty of "long ball" areas, but likewise, you might pop around the corner, so it's best to keep it in a zone where it is unlikely to jump up to 300FPS.

Just remember folks, only you can prevent permanent bruising... =o And if you don't abide by the rules...the ref will pwn you with a mallet.

Well that sounds a little bit harsh, but they deserve it! :P

I have seen a mask lens break from a paintball before. Nobody was wearing it luckily, but it still makes you think how easy it really is to get injured because someone is too stupid or arrogant to keep their velocity down.

Some guys were shooting an old mask that they had tied around a wooden post. One guy cranked up his velocity to a VERY high level, probabyl around 400 or higher. After three shots, the paintball went right through the mask!

Of course, it was a MonsterBall, and as we all know, those things are like marbles!

One thing I can say, though, is that the Monster Ball did, in fact, break. That ends our myth that Monster Balls are like Superman's eyeballs!

the mask lens poped out of the mask and was cracked and sent shards of glass plastic into your eyes if they were behind it

I'm not sure if this is true or not. But I heard some guy at my local field turned his velocity up to 420 out in the field, and when he shot a guy it ripped his shirt.... Now I don't know if this is true. But thats what I heard from the owner of our local shop...

Quick question...does turning your velocity up make you more of a BAMF or more of a wuss? I just dont understand the reason

exactly the limit at my field is 300fps but we all set them at 280 to prevent going over

My Ion has been less consistent lately, so I have to set mine to 280 also

It shoots 280 6 out of 10 shots, and +/- 7 fps 4 out of 10 shots.

Oh well, no need to crank it up to 300 anyways. What's that gonna help right?

But does anyone think that some one could actually rip the shirt of another player? I mean with the marker shooting at 420 FPS.

Now what exactly do you mean by this?

Did it hit him and leave a small ripped hole in his shirt?

Did it hit a loose part of his shirt and go through the whole thing?

I doubt a paintball could rip someone's shirt off, but I think it is possible for it to go through or leave a small hole.

I'm not sure about how it hit him, but it seems as if it would hit the lose part of his shirt.
