Notice how old that article is. Paintballs have had continuous changes in there ingredients, all the ingredients are now made of nothing but edible ingredients,

http://youtube.com/watch?v=x5kvHBOq9cI

Also at my local field they have had there dog there for years, that dog has been shot hundreds and hundreds of times and ate hundreds and hundreds of paintballs and the dog is fine (although it could use a bath lol :P )

YET AGAIN WE'D BETTER BE SAFE THAN SORRY :excl:

After a big game up here we had a paintball eating contest... I ate 6 and I was gagging pretty hard. Nothing wrong with me after that though, except for a bit of a sore stomach. The guy that won ate 36 (and won a brand new BT-4) and he was totally fine. All paintballs now are made of edible, non-toxic ingredients.

We also need to remember that there are things that people can eat but are deadly to animals. Certain types of chocolate, raisins/grapes, and onions can all be lethal to dogs. Also the formulation of paint will vary from company to company. Finally, look what happens to a paintball when it gets wet, they swell. We all know that dogs inhale stuff without chewing and that could lead to a severe blockage which could kill a dog.

1998-2003? When was oil based paint phased out? While I doubt eating 500 water based paintballs will do you any good, 500 oil based ones could possibly kill. Try drinking 41oz(about equal to 500 paintballs) of oil based house paint and see if you go to the hospital.

So one of my dogs ate around 70 paintballs yesterday. (She ripped open a bag) I thought nothing of it, she had done it before with no harm. Last night she has a seizure, wet her bed, and collapsed walking down the stairs.

She's fine now, but keep in mind that different kinds of paint are different, some formulas may harm animals more than others.
