hellow there! i have just one question. I am a begging player who shot his cuzions paintball gun and was hooked. So i was wondering if i should go with the tippman or the spyder. I was thinking about going with the spyder for a start out gun and if i like the sport then buying the tippman. Yes I have searched many times and have come to a conclusion on the spyder, but wanted to see what u guys/gals thought. Thank you for helping a noob out!!!

just to let you know in case you didn't, i have an imagine and the gun broke down on me b4 i even shot 100 rounds out of it. i would reccomend the tippman cause they lasts longer and require less maintenince. i have an ion now by the way! :(

I vote imagine -
my team has a variety of spyders, typmans, ion, shocker, piranahs etc.
the kingman brand spyders have been just as reliable as the typmans but are easier to maintanance when necessary.
the imagine has the added benefit of coming with the e-trigger which is really nice even in semi mode compared to the mechanical spyders trigger weight.

I prefer Tippmann, or better yet, the BT-4.

Go with a BT-4. They're cheaper than 98 Customs and are very similar.

I'm not voting because Ive never had a 98C but I have an Imagine and it works perfectly. I havent ever had it break down on me. I also give it a fair amount of abuse. My Imagine was also $60 as a refurb at actionvillage.com and its the newer style.

I only use mine for woodsball. The only downside is the stock battery wont hold a charge. But a new 9.6 rechargeable will fix that. Or just get a mech frame like off a MR1 if you swapped them over.

bt and tippmann are basicly the same only slight differences. I still vote for the imagine because i just don't like the feel of tippies and i don't like the clamshell design.
