The one time I played, I just used an A5A2 standard with a Ricochet A-5 hopper, and go remote for broadsword.

i use a tippmann a-5. its got some serious mods, but all you really need for broadsword is a marker that can lay down suppression fire. it doenst need to be ighly accurate, but its good if it can reach out a bit (aka. flatlined). you may need to carry a lot of paint so you will want a marker that can easily handle shooting a lot of paint, even through ball busts, without maintanance.

which is why i like my a-5. :) lol
They call me PUNISHMENT. Care to find out why?

i use a tippmann 98c with a combat collapsible car stock, a response trigger (13-15 bps), a cyclone feeder, and a 14" j and j cearamics self cleaning barrel. Doesnt sound that impressive, but it does the job just fiine.

I just recently sold my SP-8 and went with an Ion. It's the same damn thing without the Milsim shell (and a little less cumbersome). Don't get me wrong, the Sp-8 is still much lighter than almost any Tippmann out there (including mods). I just wanted to go a bit lighter since I'm carrying anywhere from 10-15 pods of paint at the start of a game.

This is likely a Noob post, but here goes... I am trying to assign positions as my group works on building teams. Without buying anything new, yet. My question is what kinds of guns have you experienced braodswords used for this position?

i go with the a-5 but really any thing will work

Disagree. Not just anything will work. Being a broadsword means shooting lots of paint. For example, a Tiberius probably would not be good for this position. A q-Bow would not be very useful either. As a standard, the A-5 is good, but eventually you will want to upgrade it to better suit how you play.

I've used both of my 98C's, A5, SP8, and my Cyborg. Basically any marker that can do a good job supressing the enemy

I use my Lvl 10'd automag as a Broadsword and I tend to rock face with it. Rate of fire has never really been an issue for me. It tends to be quiet, Criminally accurate and fun to shoot. Oh and it can take tons of abuse. I have also used a ACI maverick but it was not nearly the awesomeness that is the automag.
