I'm starting to find out that I can shoot faster with my mechanical 'cocker than with my non-egripped/RT'd A5. I think I'll just use the money and upgrade my 'cocker to etrig, and roll that way.

With just the switch alone to the 'cocker, my BPS went up be a few (from around 5 to about 8). I just gotta learn to stop short strokin'.

My A5:

Car Stock
Ricochet R5 Hopper w/ Ghetto padding inside
Tech T Cyclone
Tech T Lightning Rod
Tech T QEPH
X7 Rubber Cyclone Paddles
Low Pressure Kit
Palmer Stabilizer
32mm NCStar Red Dot Site
Lapco Offset Rail
J&J Edge Kit
E-Grip
Ghetto Rigged Magnetic Trigger
APE Rampage Board
Crossfire 88/4500 HPA Tank

So pretty much the only thing that is stock on my marker, is the front site, the cyclone housing, clam shell, and the power tube (but not the internals to the power tube)

I have just altered my setup slightly to:

A5 w/ A2 conversion.
E-Grip w/Ape Board
Flatline w/4 rail Shroud (Broadsword) or 14" J&J (Sabre) or 18" Opsgear (Sniper/Defence)
Polished Internals
Offset hopper
Sight Raiser
Walther Red Dot
Dead-on Powertube
JCS Jet Click
TechT QEPH (Still waiting for that to arrive!)
Remote
88/4500psi

Works really well especially now i've got my flatline setup properly

Dangerous Power Fusion
A Fast Hopper
An Air Tank

I do need to get a new barrel for it, maybe a new board...

not done yet of course...it will never be done

but yea, most people use A-5s for the Broadsword position, but i chose the 98 c beacuse thats what i had at the time.

but some other gear i use would be a Remote, Broadsword vest (coming soon) ,M3's (coming soon too i promise) , grenade drop leg rig (for those days when you feel like carrying 4 grenades around) and some other things i cant remeber.

hope this helps -drummer

PS sorry im feeling very insinsitive and sarcastic right now if you havent notised.

This is likely a Noob post, but here goes... I am trying to assign positions as my group works on building teams. Without buying anything new, yet. My question is what kinds of guns have you experienced braodswords used for this position?

Meh. I used to have an SP-8. ANY other electro will work and "mil-sim" is just heavy and useless. (paintball markers have NO recoil or heat and shoot 150', not 150 yards - you don't need a stock, bipod, scope etc)

A high-end mech works great and isn't reliant on batteries.
I switched from the SP-8 to a PPS Blazer then a Classic Automag and have laid down suppression fire with all of them.

Point to consider though: it's better to hit with one shot than miss with a thousand.

Find gear you're comfortable with, can vary your rate of fire from "single, pin-point accuracy" to "10 balls in the air at a time" and learn to AIM.

I was playing with a bunch of GREAT guys from the M.CB forum this weekend. To suppress while one of my teammates was moving up, I just stopped feeding paint and shot air. A bunch of loud, air-only shots is enough to keep heads down. ;)
