Tyger, have you considered sending that to APG?

Lotta things to hit, so I'm doing it in order of posts :

First of all, I've just modified it to the final product on the main page. I have the first version saved, but this is the one I'm most happy with. So rather than repost it, I edited the first post with it. So go check it out too.

Darkknight : I modified that a little, explained it in a better way. I could see what you meant.

PumpSniper : Don't ask. I'm a professional, I do that for a living.

rustilldown_7 : Go ahead, share & enjoy. As long as it's personal use (like personal web sites or printing it out for your own use), I don't mind.

ghost : Sorry, I don't do other people's papers. ;) :D :P

dubfunkstar : Go ahead, I just ask you leave my web address on it there so people know where it came from.

redleg : Oh, I know "hooah!" Live near 2-3 military bases long enough, you pick it up.

And Fingers : No. That's not the point of it. Some stuff I don't want money for. I just wanted to get it out of my system, and put into words what a LOT of us want to say.

Thats not what I meant, what I meant was...send it to APG and see if theyre willing to put it in their "co2 editorial page", jus to let those who read the magazine and who are in the sport and looking for the info on what other players (new or old) are expressing....you know like a "heads up" on whats going on.

I suppose, but it's a little long for a "letter to the editor", isn't it?

Naw, this is an underground movement. Players for players. Besides, I think that the people from APG lurk these and other boards. It'll get to them eventually.

...!!!!!!!!.....there is honestly, very little that I have ever read in my 20 years in paintball that has stunned me with such brutal honesty. The only comparable thing that I have ever read or heard, is the speech that Jessica Sparks delivered in Washington, 1991 in her lobbying efforts to keep paintball from being banned..

Very excellent work Tyger.
I have to agree with Evil Fingers. Don't submit it as an article to APG, submit it as a letter. If they choose to print all or part of it fantastic.
I'm going to copy it over to my blog.

Great piece Tyger. I like how you covered all the important points. Its hard to argue with that and yet its all the truth and how everyone...well, almost, on this board feels. Great job. :D

Yup, these things (poignant works) tend to take on a life of their own. As a "professional" I'm sure you are already aware of this fact and accept it as the only real thing you can do. As was mentioned before in numerous posts, it is a very excellent and well written piece. Commendably it stays true to its subject while conveying the sense of passion that most of us feel for our much maligned "sport". In many ways it is this factor that makes us such a tight knit group, at least in most cases. Sorry to go off topic but it really is the first thing that I personally have read that adequately sums up most of our feelings and reasons for investing as much time, money, and energy that many of us do. Kudos to you brother and keep the good work up, we desperately need a voice to be heard over the brightly colored, amplified, shouts of our brother aspect of the "sport". :D

Im pretty sure everyone is taking this woodsball thing far to serious. The woods just happen to be where we play because there is no where else to go. The underlying passion comes from the freedom of professional fields and their gestapo rules. And, of course, from all the friendly antics as well. As the man said, "Over 90% of players play paintball in the woods", so its not like any of us are special. The only reason why speedball is in the limelight is because of the political nature of speedball. Compared to playing in the woods, speedball is a gold mine because of all the money sunk into the high tech equipment and cases of rounds shot each game. And its for that reason why sponsors make sure speedball is on tv and played at all fields. So stop trying to turn "woodsball" into the rebellion against the speedball empire because its all a matter of people just trying to make a buck.
