What kind of trouble are you having making bunkers?

I've worked on 2 different fields and there is the possibility of working on a 3rd. The 1st field I worked on was in my best friend's back yard. When I say backyard, he had 5 acres of property with no neighbors fors mile behind him so.... I built about 10 bunkers there. One was basically a fort. This particular bunker was built between two boulders. I made a curving wall between the two that was aobut 4 feet high at its tallest and 2 feet tall at its lowest. The entrance was set up in such a way that if anyone came in to attack from the rear, they could not just shoot straight in. On top of the larger of the two boulders, put a sniper roost. It wasn't easy to get up there because we didn't have a ladder and it was about 5 feet fro the lowest point on the boulder to the ground. There was a caVe that connected the bunker to the other side of the boulder. Fortunately, it wasn't large enough to crawl into from the outside of the bunker.

Yes, I do, but it's more like two fields, because there are only certain points you can get across the river. Starting with one team on each side games are hilarious.

I have my own field, not much though, it's 1 acre of thick brush with wooden bunkers, 2 bases (on opposite ends), and a sniper tower in the center of the field. Small but works for us, we only have 6-14 guys at a time. I'll get pics up soon.

The second field I helped build started off with two main bunkers and that was it. They were barely adequate. Usually, you were hit from a shot that got in one of the gaps in the bunker. Myself and a couple of the other die hards went in, dug in back of the bunker, putting the dirt in the front, and raising the actual height f the bunker by a couple of feet. We added two more bunkers and a pill box. One of the bunkers is a 3 sided bunker and is open on 1 side and it comes up to my chest (I'm 5'11"), the other two walls are shorter and angle down. All the gaps between trees (which we scavenged from already fallen trees) were filled with branches from fallen pines trees. The 2nd new bunker has four sides with an open back. The maximum height is about 3 feet high but it has excelent cover.
The pill box was an interesting challenged. There was already a depression in the ground, about 3 feet deep. I went in a lowered the bottom by another 2 feet. All the dirt and rocks that were pulled out of the hole were placed along the rim. Taking a fairly stout piece of wood (again scavenged) and used that for my corner. From there I ran two piece, 90 degrees to each other. I used these as the two main supports for the room, which I made out of fallen pine branchs. I covered any dirt and rocks with leaf litter. The actual height of the pill box, above ground is about a foot to 18 inches. It can very difficult to see from a distance, even when you know where it is.

my team has been clearing and setting up bunkers for our first field. we played on it for the first time memorial weekend. with the satelite map and gps tracker we lined the field with a florescent line 1500 feet long and estimate it to enclose 5+ acres of land. There are a lot of well packed trails through it thanks to deer.

there is a lot more land back there so we will probably add mroe fields later to switch it up.

Just remember DO NOT cut anything done or make anything permaneant if you don't own the land or don't have permission.

I have a tree farm we play on. 130 acres in Northern CT.
I don't have bunkers, just woods. There are two flag stations about a half-mile apart with some short cliffs and a small swamp between 'em.
