The MG36 and the 249 are completely different. The MG36 is a LSW that's effectively just a G36 with a heavier barrel and a Beta mag.
i personally like the german mg3 1150 rounds a minute is nothing to laugh at plus it is a very light machine gun that acts like a heavy machine gun
Oh yes. Very light. Only 10 pounds heavier than the SAW (which is already 15 pounds).
MG42, updated version of the mg36, at least it was in 1942 when it was created. You have to love the higher rate of fire that it had over the mg36 plus many components of it were interchangable with the *GASP* m60 U.S. made machine gun. The part that latches down over the chain is supposed to be completely interchangable on the two guns.

The M60 was designed very heavily around the MG42. You've got your timetables backwards.
