Cool video.
Alea iacta est ~ The board is set, the pieces are moving.
~ Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green, That host with their banners at sunset were seen:
Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown, That host on the morrow lay withered and strown. ~ Destruction of Sennacherib

~ Believe me, dear Sir: there is not in the American states a man who more cordially loves a union with his country than I do. But, by the God that made me, I will cease to exist before I yield to a connection on such terms as the United States Congress proposes; and in this, I think I speak the sentiments of America. ~ Thomas Jefferson (modernized)

Maybe not DIRECT from 10 yards, but beyond that and slight angles right?

EDIT: Bill beat me, but still?

I would rather take the chance of it deflecting a round than a patrol cap deflecting a round...

yeah at angles it would bounce off. a .45 from my 1911 kinda imbeded itself in it. it looks funny sticking out of the side.

Ok. So it might deflect something but not direct. Better than nothing, i suppose.

The 7.62 x 54 ammo that I buy (Brown Bear) is fmj ap w/ a steel core. It goes through just about anything.

Gander mountain has Mosin Nagants in both variants for $120-something. With all accessories. I'm debating getting one.

I'm gonna buy a FN Five-seveN in 5 months or so, anything I should know about this gun?

Ammo is expensive and hard to find.
The rounds available to civilians aren't any more effective than a 17hmr etc.
The pistol is expensive, odd to operate, and odd to breakdown

It's more of a novelty item in my opinion. Too expensive for target shooting (ammo costs), not effective for concealed carry or hunting or home defense...not very practical.

I just wish I had energy figures for the difference between the short M44 barrel and the longer M1891 barrel.

Though I'd still probably get the M44 just for ease of handling/storage.

I'm probably picking up a Nagant M44 today. Just gotta go pay a credit card and see where my money stands.

Nice. There is a gun show this friday. Hopefully, I will know what my tax return will be. However, I don't see myself getting a new firearm...
