My favorite gun of all time is the MP40, so I decided to try and model one of my markers after it, my new SP1. Does anyone have a good website that could help me with that? It won't be easy, but if I can pull it off I will be the happiest paintballer alive.

EDIT: Theres a pic of an SP1.

Hmm, maybe you can use the straight ump mag for the magizine, find a way to mod it to fit over your foregrip, or remove your foregrip all togeher.

UMP mag

and an MP5 stock looks kind of like it. Need to wait for an A5 to SP1 adaptor though.

The SP1 would be a Far Cry from making it resemble an MP40.

EDIT: And besides, it would look awkward to have an MP40 that had Rails on it.

What do you recommend then Fingers?

Thank you Tiger, the mag looks like it would be good and I could probly find a good stock.

An Airsoft MP40 and place an AGD Marker inside.

Edit: without using an Airsoft Gun, the closest would be an Old 98 Custom, since an MP40 has a Long Body, removing of the Foregrip and mounting a Fake MP40 Mag.

Okay, maybe if I get the cash I could try that. But maybe if I could mod the body myself... idk. I don't wanna ruin my marker. So I might wait. I Have an old style 98 actually. Do you mean cutting off the forgrip, where it is attached?

I think cushman paintball makes MP40 shells...but I believe they are for the 98. Can't remember. Hell, I don't even know if that company still exists.

You got it and what else needs to be done, is to grind down the Rear Sight and hit up Engler for an Under Folding Stock for the 98, like the one for the AKA5.

Never, under any circumstances, buy anything from Cushman.

Get an airsoft MP40 and put a AGD Marker or Ion in it. This was one of my future projects. You could always get a 98 and mod it with real Mp40 parts. Thats what I did for my Thompson (98 with real thompson parts)

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to use a small bit of sheet aluminum, hand drill, and 1/8" thick aluminum slat to make the under-folding stock. However, I think that a Tippmann 98 Custom would make a better (and more cost-effective) platform for doing the mod in this case. You might, however, consider doing a machine gun mod or a more contemporary look based around the SP1.

Another option that might be doable for a mod is the Imbel MD-A1 but I'm not sure too many people would recognize it if you went that way. It has a large overhand behind the grip (just like the SP1) and has a magazine location that corresponds to the foregrip. You could also try to make it look a bit like the Sola Super but again the rails don't belong with the look.

the body styles are too different... you'd need to remove the reg on the SP1 to make it work properly, which isn't and option. You're better off using a 98 for this project and removing the foregrip to accommodate any mods you make. whatever you do, DO NOT buy a body kit from Cushman.

or, you could take the above members (plural) ideas of usin an airsoft body and putting an ion or mag inside for internals. the SP1 just doesn't make a good marker for this kind of project.

good idea though.

cheap 9mm surplus mags can be had at most gun shows, or you can order them from Cheaper Than Dirt!, or other companies. mod it to fit over the front grip, and you have a gun the resembles the MP40. thin sheet metal could be fitted over the body to add more to the look. i think it couls work. If you want a stock, you could easily make a wire stock that resembles it. The 98 could be modded the same way, and would be a little bit easier. you could take the foregrip off....... or leave it on, it does not matter which. Id say mod the 98, seeing as it is a bit easier to do and has readily availible parts, but nothing beats a home- made milsim job.
