redleg it must be the Army training.

Something else to consider. When you to an event as a team make sure everyone has a list of who has what. The staging area at an event can be pretty large with a lot of people. If everyone in your group knows all the gear it will be easier to find in case something comes up missing.

If you have multiple markers and take them all to an event make sure your case is able to be locked and you can secure it to a bench or something like Menace suggests.

The average theif you would encounter at an event is one of opertunity. Meaning if they have the chance they will take it. As far as my knowledge no one would show up to an event to steal gear so they won't be prepared for locks and chains.

I store my paint in a Folgers plastic coffee can. Never had it stolen. Also works great as a pod loader.

My friend uses pringles cans. lol.

Yeah, I store my tools (allen wrench's and screwdrivers, among other things) in a Clinique makeup bag... I haven't had a single allen wrench stolen for two years.
Everyone thinks Italians are jolly people. In paintball, its my job to remind you that we Italians invented the vendetta... other than that, we're nice people.

I hear being 6'3, 350lbs of pure muscle, have a side arm, and have the umber of guys who tried to steal your gun engraved into the bag (backed up with proof of a little momento of that "ex crook" such as the body bag number...) keep the little vermins away...

I usually never put my gun down though... and my gear bag is always put on a table in the middle of the area so it can be seen by everyone (including the refs). They know its my bag because Im the only one there with an A-5A2 and vest...

maybe im just paranoid but we usually play in bigger private groups of friends but I still won't leave my gear just sittin on a table unless someone from my group is there.

we usually all stage out of our trunks too and just leave out on the table what we need right away until we get back out to the playing fields. luckily no bad stories from our group yet

Chop off the right hand of all convicted thiefs. Then if anyone sees a one handed person lurking about the parking lot or staging area...

Normally I stay near people I know me and my gear and bring just what I need to the stagging area. when I leave to go to the field the duffle gets locked and the should strap goes around a table leg. The only thing of mine that ever get's stolen are allen wrenches. Odds are not everyone is going to be on the feild at the same time. Other than that outlaw games where a staging area is nill and parking is 2 miles away I have a steel garden card that I made a gated lid for that's gets brought with me to the make shift stagging area. All other gear is locked up (including the handles) inside and it's chain to a tree. If some on can cut the chain and lug that 90lb best (unloaded) out of the woods he deserves to get it.

Here's a pic of the beast.

The runners are for a tray that slides to the opening for a quick work area for marker repair.

Try playing at a field thats not full of thieves.
Ive never had a problem when leaving my gear out at Badlands in Il or any ware I have played.
If you feel that your gear is not safe don't play there any more, find a better field.

i play at badlandz often [i was there last week], but that still doesnt mean that people will show up there with the intention of stealing something because they feel the need to have nice things, but not work for it. trust me, its everywhere. even in my little burb of frankfort. when you are looking for muddy footprints in the human soul, you are rarely dissapointed.
