I was just wondering what you guys thought about putting laser pointers on your gun. Personally, I don't think they should be allowed cause if you point it at someones eye ie could really mess up there eyes and im allready blind as it is so id ont want to get even worse vision.

ues, but I've never seen anyone use one

and isn't this exact same topic in the Mods and upgrades room? Why didn't you just ask a mod to move it for you? I'm sure Teddy or Ten would have done it if you asked.

a laser pointer will not harm sumone's eyestight unsell it is shown in their eyes for about 10 seconds, and even then, that will only cause short term probelms that will go away withink hours.

If you are worried about some n00b fry'n your eyes, go out and get special glasses that filter out laser rays. I believe united nuclear sells them, you can get them at many other places though.

Green lasers should be banned, but red should be fine. You have to look at them for a while to cause perminant damage.

No, there really isn't any advantage by using them. A paintball can't follow the path of laser and if it's sunny you probably can't even see it. I also wouldn't want anyone to loose or damage their sight due to some kid who thought his laser would help him get more hits. Also, there is the insurance risk for the field.

Well yeah, no point in using lasers in the day, but at night they work. And paintballs CAN follow a laser dot as long as the target isn't 1,000 yards away.. A laser is JUST as helpful as a scope or dot sight in terms of letting you know where the paintball is likely to go. By saying lasers are useless you are saying all sights are useless.

if your beins shined in the eyes, what newb would stay there long enough to get permanent damage?
1: if you keep looking into it, your probably TRYING to lose your eyesight
2: chances are, the person with a laser pointer will shoot you pretty quick

Yea I find that if someone can hold a lazar steadily enough in someone's eye from 50+ feet, they win the internet or something. I used one before at my field in the woods, which were pretty dark. I used it more to tell my team where the enemy was. When I used it in a firefight though, the other guy just said "Man I kept seeing that damn little lazer somewhere on my camo and I kept freaking out."

Laser pointers are useful for night games to point out locations of the enemy. You have to be hit directly for a long time period (I can't remember exactly 30 or 60 seconds) directly in the eye to cause damage. Most of the time someone is quickly going to light an area up an immediately turn the laser off. I have been using lasers for night games for about 3 years. They do work for what I use them for.

Use a pressure-switch, where you have to keep pressing down on the switch for the laser to activate. That'll keep the use of the laser to a minimum and you can use it quickly.

i don't think laser sights should be allowd because for one it can damage someone's eyes and two if its shines in your eye while your trying to shoot your completely blinded andit puts you at an unfair advantage. i say if someone wants a sight that has to do with a laser, then just go and use a red dot sight or occluded sight. that way no one gets has any problems with being at a major disadvantage.
