See? Paintball proves to be safe yet again. Sorry I didn't cite my sources earlier but whatever. Someone, I think it was Puz, did a lovely job of covering my butt. I'll do it next time.

did I die for a second there?...

Lol, best one yet. I was playing at my dad's friend's grandma's house, and we did a night game in the HUGE field right by the house. The moon was out, and you could see pretty well. Funny part was that my dad's friend had a electro gun with a red light on it, and while he ran through the hills and into the woods we could see were he was! Anyways, we'd stayed stationary for awhile, and finally decided to move. I take about thirty steps, and hit something. I fall down, and was like What the BOINK just happened? So I get back up, and run a few feet, and feel something on my back. I put my hand on it, and clench real hard, and my hand throbbed. I pulled it back, and it was bleeding quite bad. I yelled BOINK at the top of my lungs, and relize that I just had up-rooted an entire thorn bush! I was laughed at the entire trip over it... but it was the funniest weekend ever!

i belive i heard 2 stories of

1st was guys playing outlaw on a moutaan ,guy was running and looking behind him and ran off a clif and died
doubt if that happend

2nd was a cop with a pepper ball gun (plastic shell 400fps) went through a rioter (person in the act of rioting ... riot ... is that right spelling) eye and killed them

also biggest saftey consurn on a regular basis outside of mask rules is air, a few people have aired up tanks with oil on the fill nipple = boom

Pepperballs are NOT paintballs. Cops controlling a riot are NOT playing paintball.
That's like saying beating someone to death with a bat is a baseball related death.

most of the injuries from most sports are from human error directly, i think. i f-ed up my knee pretty bad from bowling(very, very, very un-coordinated). im just saying, i think a very small fraction of the injuries are from equipment failure, or something that couldnt have been prevented from human mistake-stupidity

Yeah, a paintball-related death is pretty much someone getting shot with a paintball and dying. As long as you're wearing the proper safety gear, that's statically impossible.

Also, the "markers" are not the same thing. I believe that they are set to shoot at a much higher velocity.

I usually see the cops using a Pro/Carbine. Weather it has been modified or not I don't know

I did a search and one company is now marketing the A5 for pepperballs. There is something obscene about that.

yea the pepper ball thing is stupid lol i'v seen them and the cops r buying a5's and selling them to other cops and stations as "pepper ball guns" and they shoot balls full of pepper spray.

anyway! back to deaths lol my dad works at a hospital and was talking to a paramedic about paintball and the paramedic told him that they had seen 2 deaths due to paintball and it was because of this. if a object going fast (football, baseball, PAINTBALL, ect.) hits u where ur heart is at a certain moment in operation of pumping blood, ur heart will stop. so yes there have probably been way more than 2 deaths due to paintball but they didn't classify them as paintball deaths because a baseball could have done the same thing.

The Tippmanns that Pepperball sells as their launchers are modified from the regular ones-namely, they're sprung to work around 400 (As in, they range between 200-500, instead of the 100-400 ours do). I think they've got metal internals as well, but I could be wrong.

Huh, so what did he say about the force needed to cause a heart stopping blow? A baseball going 300fps is gonna have a heck of a bigger impact than a paintball. Even so, with clothing on and what not I find it hard to believe. Someone bust out the mythbusters.

did I die for a second there?...

no it has to hit the heart at a certain moment in the cardiac cycle.....any type of blow could stop the heart in the moment of the cycle
