Mostly I've seen nerf footballs used, but you would really need to check with the field you plan to go to for their own rules. :ninja:

If you want that to be an anti-personel mortar, I would say make the barrel 3/4 dia or do the good old canister idea with the 2 inch. Dixie cups work nicly I have heard.

You could try using rubber tubing rather than a water balloon. They don't lose their integrity as badly.

Tennis balls are used sometimes, they fly nicely.

Alright off I go

When we used my teams RPG we found that loading 500ml of paint straight into the barrel worked all the time as a close range flame thrower like thingy. It effectivly soaks whoevers standing there. We loaded it up to 3 litres though. Another way is to put a ballon in a fill it up so you are sure it will pop in the barrel. Makes it easier to carry. You can nicley fit 500ml bottles in your harness/vest too. We have a RPG powered by compressed air

Polystyrene with paintballs inside also worked although the paintballs didn't break at long ranges. Good for a cannon with a lots of power, maybe the explosive type.

Normal balloons also work, popped less and vould be filled so that they pressed on the side of the barrel. Lol, we think ours went to +100m (300 feet). Could be exaggarating though. I shot my friend with this. It bounced off his arm though. He said it hurt like a paintball but over a bigger area.

I love my RPG

Yeah what I use in my artillery launcher is water balloons filled with paint...they have a BIG splat.

put a cap full of rubbing alcohol in your paintmix, they will never wipe that off in less than a week

So your willing to buy everyone some new BDU's?

For projectiles, nerf finned footballs, paintball grenades (full size), buck shot paintballs, etc.

Use a 2" barrel and use the home made grenades in the Ammo section. Pull the pin and slide them down the barrel. When they hit the ground they go off. For the "plug" I use Wal-Mart brand 3oz plastic bathroom cups. I cut the lip off the top of the cup. You can also use paper dixie cups. When you push them down the barrel the lip will unroll allowing the cup to seal against the barrel.

the paint will come off, it just takes a little longer
try the canister idea with two or three smaller ballons in it insted of one big ballon or a hand full of paintballs, but that is if you want to get greater distanc, otherwise just go for canister buckshot

try this

Depending on how you make your paint mix, some of them stain, and alot are hard enough as it is to get out of clothing.

I don't/can't use balloons in my launcher. The power if it instantly shreds them even with alot of padding.

i origanaly had problem with that so i eventual sliped my water ballons a cardboard tube that could slide into my cannon
then i slit the tube down one side and put a small piece of tape on the slit to hold it together
then ifilled up my ballon and put my wad on the bottom of the tube the ballons are smaller but this worked a lot better for me and gave me a range of 200 feet at a 70 degree angle

What kind of pressure is your launcher using? My projectile (whatever it may be) gets hit with 800 PSI, thats 8 times as much pressure as most other launchers.
