I go for pod packs or markers, masks if I'm quick enough. Everyone I practice with does the same. No one else really tries to bunker anyone so I dont know how theyd do.

Going for the mask is tricky...off by a little bit and you nail them in the neck or top of the head...both of which are not fun places to get hit.

I have a horror story that happened this way. I tried to shoot the kid in the mask, however, the wind kicked up and blew the ball downwards and hit the poor 11 yr old kid in the throat, from 5 feet away.

Sadly enough, he hasn't been back to play since then. So, I started to aim for knee pads, drop leg rigs, vest/pod packs, etc.

I'm all for mercy but I believe in bunkering --- So many , shall we say newbies, just bunker in and how else will you get the kill. So if you got 3 guys bunkered in you can't barrel tag all of them.

Now I don't like to light them up but I will go into a fort and spray everything.

Throat shots hurt, been there at least twice but they happen. I haven't let them stop me. I think bunkering should be allowed but with limitations. If the individual has been bunkered for so many minutes, call them out.

We also have a "surrender or die" rule. However, usually when you sneak up on someone and yell "surrender or die" they in shock turn around and get shot anyways. We don't really worry too much about close shooting, our field is so thick and brushy that it's common to sneak up on someone and get a surrender at least once during the day, snipers paradise.

That's why I don't offer the surrender option. I simply inform them that they're out and, just a bit of psychology, since they aren't given an option, they generally take the moment to think and realize it's a bad idea.

I have a hard time believing the wind picked up that much from that close. ¬_¬ I've practiced when its stormed for god sakes and I havnt noticed any drops when I'm that close.

lonegunm4n , it is a VERY bad idea to try to shoot someone in the mask at 5 feet. The lenses do not like it at all.

I hate surrender rules. No-one can abide by them here, so I just shoot them anyway. If you are in my field of view and on the other team, I will shoot you. No ifs/ands/or but's. Thats it. I don't ask, I don't tell. You are out, and my paint does the talking. I wont shoot for pain zones, but I wont go out of my way or take the time to aim for non-pain zones. Pod packs here are a no-go. DipDOO DOOs have decided by popular rule that a pack hit does not count. Nor does a gun or mask hit. I despise the local scene.

Ya, well, tell that to ghostinthewind :D

It did though. I was aiming for the hard part on the nose, and it went straight down. Tactical Paintball (where I play at), is bad about that, being on the windward side of a hill. The wind can change suddenly and often, making really hard to get a good, accurate long rang shot off.

I shoot them in their mask not their lense. Thats what I was talking about if I was quick or not. If I get a good run they're head isnt turned. Again let me point out that most of the time I go for a gun/pack.

Also you said 5ft, thats not a long range shot. :(

Speaking of the wind, its wood. ¬_¬

It's all situational, if it's an experienced guy mowing down a renter, I'll either call the renter out before he gets pwnt, or tell the guy to give him the mercy kill, if its both experienced, i'll let them do their thing, and if it's 2 renters, I'll let them go at it. Although if anyone is constantly bunkering people, I usually step in.

Step in? I dont know if I'd do that at first. I'd definetly advise people to throw a lane when they see it happening so the guy runs into that before the bunker. Now if they cant then I will.

I didnt mean step in as in "stop bunkering people, or I'll kick you out", I meant step in as in, do something about it, like try and resolve the issue as best possible.
