hey so this is probally gonna be a stupid question i plan on painting my x7 but i jut want to double check real quick. if im goin to paint it is it a must that i have to strip the old powder coating off or will a good cleaning to get all the oil and dirt off and a good primer coat allow me to paint over it?

clean it very well.....then sand into that powder coating. you dont have to sand it off, that coating will help things. sanding it will break up the surface and give paint something to stick to. in most cases, if you have a good paint, that powder coat can act as a primer. i have done that before. using my US-5.

once you get it all sanded down, rub it down again to get it super clean, then paint away.
