I just received the new Sly two piece 14" Carbon Fiber barrel kit for my Ion in Impulse threading.

I used it extensively this past weekend for the "Walls of Troy" Scenario, shooting about a case and a half of Carnage Tear/bite through it.

The kit come with it's own barrel wrap, four sizing backs (from .685-695) and a CF front. The wrap has slots for two extra backs, though I don't know what bore sizes they offer. and room for one additional front as well as a couple of other pockets. It's nice for a wrap...

The backs are approx. 3.25" long, aluminum, size stamped (half of my backs had the stamp with white inlay, the other two were just stamped and anno'd) They are all anno'd black. Have nice milling, fit and finish. and four porting holes for some reason. The threading on all parts was great quality.

The front has two sections of porting and the logo imbedded in the resin coating.

The paint I shot was sized at .685 and was winter fill, though the weather was very pleasant spring like. (75-80*) I was happy with the accuracy and consistency of my shots. All shooting was done under actual game play conditions and not actually "scientific tests" (Hopefully I will get a chance to test it further in the coming weeks)

The barrel is ultra light as with any CF barrel and comparable to the stiffi at less the cost. (approx $150.00) Got mine from Julio @ ElitePaintballSupply.com

Cons:
Being CF, I wish it came with a hard case to help protect my investment during travel.

Nice overview...

Glad to hear it worked well in gameplay ... that's where it counts anyway .
My buddy got his Sly kit yesterday along with a VERY sweet custom automag .

We put 1,000 rounds or so through it .
Nice kit indeed .

quiet, light and accurate . What else do ya need ?

His is the Camo version which looks great as well ...

I may just have to pick one up myself.

take care all~
