That happened to one of my friends when we were at a B-Day party we wanted to ref. He ran in for a paintcheck and the kid turned on him and looked at him for a moment, and started shootin. Good thing no one was tryin to bunker him, otherwise he woulda been toast.

My worst injury while reffing was when I came up to do a paint check and some guy thought I was the other team and shot me point blank 5 times in the back. It hurt really really bad.

Broken right thumb supermanning into snake. Caught it on the bunker stake and my thumbnail actually dug into my wrist. Even though I had to pop it back in place I kept reffing and didn't think it was broken... The ice on it hurt worse than the original injury.

I've gotten a green beard a few times recently from side shots to the head that somehow slipped under my mask coverage. Hurt for a tad bit, but atleast there was no real injury other than pride and feeling a tad bit like a leprecauhn. Still I think I should invest in a new mask.

the skimmers and the ones that pinch em to your thigh are the most painful hits ever however the dead on ones are still no picnic

I watched a guy catch 7 or 8 to the head on the 7th from about 3 feet away. He was laying at their feet off the break, and they started to fire before they brought their markers up. Didn't even aim. The poor guy was dizzy for hours. I took his spot with a shield, and was amazed at how many the shield took.

That doesn't sound to fun......

Someone at my field broke their wrist last weekend, he wasn't a Ref though, I just thought I'd mention it.

He lived over 240 miles away too............ yikes............

God Bless,
Doc

hey last year a buddy of mine cut his knee wide open sliding into a bunker (like 13 stitches and he was wearing pads) . it was a empty shot gun shell casing that was left over from when the feild was a skeet shooting club. it wasnt our field but this is just a reminder to do a feild walk before the start of a day to make sure its safe for play.
i will give up my marker only after you pry my cold rigid fingers from the trigger
