Since milsim is supposed to be geared as close to reality as possible, can't we just equip a team of guys with kevlar vests and other pieces of bulletproof gear, so that when they're hit, they're still in, because the vest is bulletproof right? Right? We want reality right?

i dunno man, i wore one of those with all the upgraded ballistic plates and stuff, and i would have almost rather had someone shoot me to put me out of my misery.

climbing up and down off a M1114 truck with all that armor on, not to mention your ammo and other basic gear, plus an M-4 and crew serve weapon, it just isnt fun.

my recommendation would be to just find some IBA covers, i think i have seen them for sell for mil-sim, and maybe buy some thin foam and cut it into the pattern and line it with that. I have my ACU IBA cover that I am going to start using as a vest for playing since its MOLLE. I can show you some pictures of it if you want.

We can go vests and make it real -- however since no vest is rated to stop a .68 caliber round --- you're still dead.

I'm just trying to work with you here.

Someone tell me, is this a new vie for a position?

Someone give me a good reason to not close this thread. I seem to be confused.

Dragon Skin body armor. I saw it on the Discovery Channel. Its a new type of body armor:
Its flexible and is supposed to be better than Kevlar. Beyond that, keep it open, close it. Whtever.

you could move the thread but i think it should stay open, the idea is milsim for sure ... whether or not fields should create rules for guys that want to wear vests or not etc ... personally i almost never get hit in the chest, it's always my arms and mask because that's what its sticking out when i shoot ... what should be the rule then? i have to stay put for 1 minute while i "dress" the wound and then i can't use that part of my body?

seems like a cool idea ... but in reality it opens up all kinds of avenues for players to cheat or play on ... hit = out is even keel across the board for everyone

I'm pretty sure that a paintball will still break on kevlar regardless.

The problem with this thread is as such. This sub-forum is for scenario POSITIONS.

Thats not that big of a word, and yet people don't understand it. Wearing a vest - while mislim - totally isn't the point. Is a dagger going to be something else just because he puts a vest on?

Quite frankly this is a joke thread. I think we've stated well enough that joke threads are spam.

I'm closing this.
