I own an upped 98 Custom for woodsball and I bring it when I ref. Lots of people will see I own this gun and that I am one of the (two) people that play woodsball at our field. Everyone else has DM's and Shockers and I think by bringing my woodsball marker it is getting more people informed about our comeback. Lots of people own Tippmanns and come to me and my friend when thinking about upgrading them. I think this is good since we are the only two that have had lots of experience with our (Tippmann) markers.

I do bring my markers with me, mainly because I don't ref every game. I switch off with people so I can play a little during the day.

Because of a rule from my boss, I am not allowed to. But I occasionally bring something out, if I am selling it.

Lol, the owner actually joked around with me last time I reffed because I never bring my stuff and a lot of the kids want to have a refs vs all game to waste the rest of their paint.

I usually bring my gat (and other playing gear) to the field, but I only really take it out if the group I'm reffing wants me to play, or if it's a bachelor party, in which case I award it to someone to use for a Gauntlet Run (bachelor runs, everyone shoots at him...).

When I occasionally Ref, I bring my marker. That way, if I get a chance, I can play. It happens sometimes, and I'd feel pretty dumb if I couldn't play because I forgot my marker.

Every time somebody shoots at someone who isn't wearing a mask, someone drowns a sack of puppies.
Every time somebody purposely overshoots someone, a dolphin is harpooned and eaten alive.
Every time somebody wipes, a family of bunnies gets run over by a Steamroller. That's why they have to reproduce so fast. Theoretically, that's how dinosaurs became extinct.

I usually don't carry my gear if I know I will be reffing all day. Occassionally, I will bring my gear to the field because players will ask about the type of gear I use or the staff will play a few games amongst themselves after the customers are gone.

Either way, I do not carry it on the field when I am reffing. It blurs the line between ref and player and creates un-needed confusion. I get shot reffing regularly, but usually because I have to get in to make a check or have let myself get into a position between two players. Either way, it comes with the job. A ref carrying a gun means the player may only see the mask and gun and the ref-vest will only register after they have fired.

I as a player only have been a ref once or twice think ref's should carry a sidearm pistol to get the attention of those one guys you know who you are that dont think the ref is yelling at you or you are purposly ignoring him. Or just to pop that guy that whines right in the arse.
