I am in development of a quick release and quick Retractable sniper blanket, with the pull of a string or snap, a light weight and durable canvas-type tarp will roll of of the cusom vest/ Located on the shoulders of the wearer. The blanket will fall to the ground, about 6 ft. and another section will be available for over the head. The wearer will then lay down and have instant sniper-cover. After a kill or the need to retreat, a pull cord will be available to retract the sniper blanket back to the shoulder.

Any questions or comments would be great.

Thanks guys

One con of a loose hanging ghillie cape is that you have no idea when you've been hit in just the cape because it's not really attached to you. I've played against someone with something similar to what you are describing and it was kind frustrating hitting them in the hanging net when they are standing and can't feel it.

I believe Hoffman Headgear may make these, or did make one for my team leader. It's a viel made of a silk-like fabric, and is extremely effective.

Great idea. I like the pull cord idea. I have been wanting to make myself some sort of sniper blanket. like an omnipat density upgrade might work. The problem I have is storing it. This would solve that, if it were a lighter material.

I have no sig, because I am cool like that.

A fireteam outfitted with these would wreak some SERIOUS havoc in the backfield. *poof* You're invisible *poof* You cut them down from behind. *poof* You move to the next ambush point.

And more than likely you would have several enemy teams hunting for these evil, evil men very soon after that, pulling resources away from the enemies' overall tactical strength.
Heh. Brilliant.

But I would leave the cord out of it. Just make it a lightweight cloak, attached (velcro, pins, whatnot) to the back of the player's collar. Light enough (and soft enough) material would make almost no noise as you roll it up into a 8x8 ball of cloth, and stuff it in a hip bag/pack/pocket.

Sounds like something the VC or NVA deployed during the Vietnam conflict. And it was quite effective.
