I would encourage everyone to try one before reading some dry specs and looking at a few pictures and forming an opinion. It is not here yet, but Macdev is obviously trying to broaden their appeal in the paintball world.

Personally, I won't need the tac rails, but its OK for me if they are there. It is kind of refreshing to see a company put out an all metal quality gun marketed to scenario folks. I had an SP8 completely fall apart on me a couple of years ago- the plastic litterally rotted away and is sitting in pieces in a box in my garage. My X7 didn't even get two cases through it before breaking the cyclone, and now I've got way more into it than the Drone will cost. The MTAC is way over priced IMO, and weighty. Ths SP1 is priced right, but kind of basic in features, although there a lot of them being used now around here.

It sounds like Macdev will be putting out tons of quality options for these, and that is what a good scenario gun should have- not just appearance fluff. Personally, I could care less what it looks like as long as it works. Different barrel combinations, ability to change fire modes on the fly, and a simplified & easier maintenance spool design all sound good to me. Hitting the sub $600 price mark with these features will let them appeal to a much broader market. The RX is a great marker, and it shoots like a dream, but at $1250, it is out of reach for most folks. I've personally played a lot of woodsball with both an RX and a tricked-out 07 cyborg, and I will be giving the Drone a good run as soon as I get my hands on one. I'll post a review up on one as soon as they get here, and you can be sure they'll be seen at most scenario games in the Northwest just as soon.

I used my Cyborg today at a scenario... I tried setting the dwell to 7ms and the LPR about 1/2 a turn in and set the HPR to chronograph at 270-280FPS and I was pulling +-7 FPS or so. It was louder and kickier than usual though, but I was amazed it ran so well performance-wise at a 7ms dwell .

I think the Drone is probably the best mix of Milsim and actual function on a marker on the market. Good Job MacDev for not making your already good looking marker a pile of wasted extra materiel like so many before.

We are hearing lots of inside info that we are not at liberty to share either.

Some little things that can be talked of...

A single trigger od double trigger frame option for those players wishing to push into the milsim side of the game.
Different options on the barrel shoud allowing more rail room to mount all your flashlights, lasers, cameras...NVG, you could ever want.
The ability to use the RX OLED electronics or the chameleon LED with select fire on the back of the grip frame making it easier to conceal the light during night play.

These are pictures of the second prototype to exist...still in testing. This unit has the RX OLED installed.

Psh, you enjoyed D-Day.

Any idea if there will be a stock adapter for it?

I have yet to here about a rear cap stock adapter.

I have underground testing picks of one with T2W stock mounted on it. I think are going ot leave it at that since there are so many grip mounte stocks already made.

But then again I have been caught off guard like before....like when thye release the Drone while I am on an airplane somewhere over the central USA!

They're going ninja on you.

I'm definitely tempted by this, too many cool markers coming out these days. Makes Digi poor.

BTW, we did come back on Sunday only to witness the mass exitus of the Bunker. Gave away our paint to some refs and drove off into the distance like so many others.

We went hunting for Thalion and the Sentinels, though he told me today he made a disappearing act! I'm too damn big to be a ninja.

We left the field around 7, went for breakfast and got in at around 1:30 a.m. this morning. I have some verrrrry interesting border crossing stories now lol.

Dang... that would really put a damper on a holiday.

But yeah, back to the marker, this page is going into my bookmarks and I'll keep on top of it and maybe I'll have enough money by the time it comes out...

That's probably what my vacation pay will be around, I think I may have to delay purchasing it though, planning on going to Wasaga's big game this year for my 20th birthday.
