I have not been on this site in forever and honestly I don't recognize a single thing about it. The original special ops site is what got me into paint ball in the first place so I did some searching around and found out a lot of information including a thread on this forum where a forum member asked what happened to this site and everyone blamed it on the economy. It's not the economy ,though it has a whole lot to do with how much product is sold and how much playing time a person has, it's the people who took over this company. Back in the day this forum, the shop, and all the articles were absolutely fantastic and I barely went paint balling at all because I was a lot younger but it didn't matter it was just a fantastic experience coming onto this site and the forum. What has happened?! I was such an avid fan of this place and coming back to check things out to see this is disgraceful. I hope someday it goes back to what it once was but until then this site and business owner needs to do some serious contemplation on the direction it wants to go in because I'm not the only one that is unhappy seeing what has happened. The shop does not have even half the selection and originality the original special ops had that I remember nor the passion that I remember just to put things to boot. This thread will most likely be closed out and deleted but I had to give my two sense on this because these changes started happening a long time ago and they are the reason I stopped checking this site. I'm only one person so I know I'm not going to make a huge difference to anybody in this company but to see such a great company go to s#@! like this is awful. Anyways good luck to yah special ops and whatever direction you end up heading in.

most of us that are left have seen the slow decay one agonizing step at a time. some of us have railed about it, some have just accepted it, some have left, a few have come back. i don't think there is any simple single solution or one single reason ... it's complicated .. haha ... but those of us that are still here have become de-sensitized to it, or have chosen to be in denial, or ignore it. but i don't think that there is a single one of us that wouldn't like to see it where it used to be... the diversity, the e-friends we made, the comraderie, and the community that it was. if there was some kind of magic wand we could wave to make it like it used to be, then we would have used it long ago.

it is what it is ... so i at least turn a blind eye and continue to post and hope to catch the interest of others to post as well ... i think the others do the same on here.

btw, who did you used to be on here ?

I don't think anyone who uses the forum is in denial about what's happened to it. Most of us here stick around hoping it will change.

In the beginning it was the economy that was to blame. Money tightened up, people stopped playing, people felt like they had nothing to contribute to the forum and stopped posting.

Because of the economy, there were internal issues with the original Special Ops team. As I recall their primary IT person was shipped overseas once he finished his military training.
Next came some problems with suppliers. Trying to save money and keep the quality they tried to find new ones for both soft goods and fabrics.

Shortly after that, Brian "MOATI" Russel did his best to revive the company and forum. This included moving from Utah to New York. Around this time Brian brought in another company to try and help out. Due to disagreements with how to handle things Brian, the last real Special Ops founder, left.

Since then the forum has been limping along. During the last year they switched servers and the forum was down for several weeks....

Aside from some spam bots, my ban hammer has been collecting dust.... the forum pretty much moderates itself.

^^Lmao. But seriously I wasn't trying to start an uproar or anything I was being serious I'm just amazed at how much things have changed and to answer your question stinkfingr I don't remember it's been too long but I never really posted much I just enjoyed reading the info and tips everyone gave and all the other hoopla this site has provided over the years. Don't get me wrong though the concept is still great just a new chapter I suppose.

I'm just here to keep stinkfingr from harassing Mack, and to keep the Cajun out of the alcoholic beverages. ;)
