I am surprised how few people are making a 10mm carbine, when it would do so well.

Especially if it took glock mags :)

Side note...would it be possible to have one gun shoot 10mm and .40? they're the same size case, just 10mm is longer. I feel like you could do it with an extended forcing cone at the barrel. *shrug*

I don't think it could be done in a semi-automatic design unless you had a .40 barrel/chamber and a 10mm barrel/chamber. Generally speaking, putting .40 into a 10mm gun doesn't work too well.

If you were going to make a revolver that used moon clips to hold the rimless cartridges in place, sure it'd be easy to have a 10mm revolver that would then also fire .40

Smith did make a 10mm/.40 S&W revolver. Model 610 IIRC.

Also, 9mm M1 clone? I think I will buy that if they aren't complete "FILTERED". Literally the only reason I don't own a M1 Carbine is the ammo is odd. I didn't know they'd released a .22. That's on the list too.

I wonder if they'll introduce a paratrooper model? Folding wire stock, pistol grip, hell yeah.

I bet its a milspec stock. You could probably easily throw on a USGI paratrooper stock.

I've seen one of the .22 models at my LGS. Haven't seen them in use so I can't speak about function, but fit and finish seemed reasonable. I'd consider one if I was looking for another semi-auto .22 LR rifle.

Paratrooper model would be interesting, and likely an easy DIY on one of the factory rifles. Personally I'd rather have it as it came out of the box as long as they are working well.

So...

who wants a printable gun?

Ten - Do you know what the price point on materials/work is like if you don't have the printer needed?

http://defcad.org/liberator/

Probably about as useful as the original Liberators of WW2, but that still makes them interesting.

Well...you'd have to buy it directly from them, since they are FFL and most people with 3d printers are not. You can't manufacture firearms as a citizen unless they are for private use. Commercial sales are a big no-no without licensing. I'd estimate that if they printed it completely solid (no hollow spaces) that'd probably be about 20 bucks worth of plastic with maybe 12 hours of machine time printing per gun.

All that being said, I would never ever fire one of these personally, its the same plastic lego is made out of and I wouldn't wanna mess around with it unraveling or melting even if it's never been fired before.

Now, on the other hand, if someone designed a single shot that used a commercial glock barrel, that'd be a different story. I could be down for something like that.

Yeah, I'd have to rig that up and fire it with a pull string from a safe distance.

They've already safely test fired it, so we know that as long as it hasn't been abused environmentally it is good for at least one shot.

Thoughts on 5.45x39?

It's still cheap even now, thinking about building a cheap upper for my AR to shoot some of the corrosive crap. Almost sacrificial quality.

The Russians still use it. A lot of countries do.

I'd say 5.45 works alright. The main thing I'd make sure is do a full out cleaning after every range session. You really don't want that stuff getting into your non-sacrificial lower, and you still want your upper to last even if it's not going to be perfect.

Nutn just did a steel plate penetration test video the other day. Might be worth your time.

Also, thinking about upgrading from the G26. Woulda been treat myself to a new piece, but new tires, rear hatch, and an upcoming trip are eating away at the surplus cash. Thank God for OT, eh?

I am starting to believe that we are already in the beginning of the apocalypse, and that we will never again see .22 LR ammunition, and that handgun/rifle ammunition will remain scarce.

Damn I wish I had had some better foresight.

^No kidding. One of my friends wants to get into shooting. He's been looking at .22 LR rifles and so far nothing good is under $500. And since ammo is gone too, it sort of defeats the purpose.

Would anyone be interested in starting this thread as a group on facebook? It'd be sad if the next time the forum went down it never came back :(
