A brief rant

for those of you who don't, I get angry. Alot. At paintball.
Not at the game, I love being on field and working with my team to win. I love the adrenaline rush, I love being dog-ass tired at the end of the day, and really debating if i want to shower or if i just want to wash the bed sheets in the morning. (for those of you wondering, it's about a 50/50 situation)
That all aside, why, WHY, is it SO hard to get a decent place to put out some soft goods? It's my theory, it really is, that someone could make a KILLING just opening a place that made soft goods specifically to customer spec. (I'd do it, but can't sew for crap, and don't know anyone who could)
You know what sparked this? pants.
What is the disconnect with this stuff, guys? why is it we can't get a stable company to make good stuff for us? Spec ops did a decent job, for a while, then the quality tanked, and everything kinda fell off about a year and a half ago. The valken pants are disappointing (mine started coming apart at the seams, literally, after 2 days. oh, and a zipper broke. after one day.), the DYE ones aren't bad, but lack the padding, and the Eclipse ones are spendy and uncomfortable. It's like the people making these things don't actually play paintball- they just make stuff. And the really sad part is, all of those pants I just named have some great features where, if you bought them, and then added in some parts from the BT ones, you'd have one killer set of pants. (I've actually got some drawings and notes on just that, sitting in the room. If i can find someone who wants to make them for less than 300$, I might just have 'em prototyped.)
But it's not just pants, don't get me wrong. In terms of load carrying, it's like we've hit a hard plateau and no one's really looking how improve the situation. and the REALLY sad part is, sometimes the answers are off the Speed ball shelf- and the shelf is mighty dusty.
I mean, who ELSE here has has problems cramming their load onto a vest that's probably way to frikkin small? 3+2s are great, sure, but overkill, and big, at that. they're also the best we're getting. 2+2s are better, smaller, and IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANYMORE. I mean, really? Really!? I mean, sure, you lose A POD, but they fit on the back of a vest or belt FAR better than 2+3s, and they're bleeding good either way.
I'mma go drinking. Heavily.

Don't mind at all. But don't use the Email of this account, if you want to talk over Email. it's nonfunctional.
Also: 1000$... I think I'll learn to sew
EDIT: Or make one of my friends learn. hah. win.

That... was information I could have probably done without

I did the math, for one prototype pair of these damn pants, it'd end up being... uh... around 39 separate items. I know 0 people with any skill sewing.
This is a minor setback.

We put our glass to the sky and lift up. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya. So raise a pint for the people that aren't with us. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya...
