So we had a paintball tourney earlier this month and the local new was there for a 'jobs for joe' segment where meterologist Joe Murgo does a job. In this one he was ref for the semifinals. What i didn't know was their cameraman got footage of me busting through a doorway to take out an enemy. Now while both of us got out this took down their door defenses allowing my team to break through and flank the enemy.

Here's the link. http://wearecentralp...media_id=435782

Incidentally, Joe said he got shot and got a welt. He was wearing think winter coveralls like mechanics wear in winter. Also it was one of my teammates who hit him, he states Joe was in his line of fire and an enemy was using Joe as cover so he tried to shoot around him lol. He failed.

Cool vid haha but it makes paintball seem super crazy with the indoor echoes and the darkness.

They dont seem to like barrel blockers there either haha

What do you mean? Barrel bags are required before leaving the arena or entering the safe room. I didn't see any examples of not using barrel bags.

And the way we play is super crazy. We call it organized chaos. And it is dark down there lit only by some colored bulbs. This allows a person to wear just about anything and still blend in.

Without re watching the vid I can recall the first scene hes holding a tippmann with no barrel plug haha then when hes chronoing there was no mask or barrel plug then later in the vid some kid is dry firing a vibe with no plug...im pretty sure there were a few more too haha.

barrel bags are not necessary when an air source is not hooked up, and we never wear a mask when chronoing, no real need with the mosquito net over the barrel. They do not use barrel plugs because they can be blown out, and when you go to a paintball shop to look at a marker do they insist you have a barrel bag on it when you look at it? Since opening in feb they have had over 7,000 unique visitors and have never had an incident attributed to safety which is amazing considering I would estimate 75% of their business comes from first time players. I play there every week. Safety is taken seriously there and employed where necessary. I think you may be taking it a bit overboard, but that's just me.

Yeah. Sadly the college speedball teams that showed up did not make it to the semi finals (My team took out one of them). So we had no 'professional' paintball players available to demonstrate proper walking. It's just not used much here.

I was just pointing it out im not saying it bothers me...

By insurance standards its unsafe and it only takes one time to loose an eye or get hurt. Paint gets left in breech, air doesnt bleed, a bad ball bounces, someone wasnt paying attention and by plug I meant barrel bag.

By saftey standards im extremely unsafe but I also know that if someone got hurt because of me but I have been a ref for 3 years so I notice any sort of saftey violation/danger ahah

That mosquito net isn't going to stop anything, it just gives you a false sense of security.

Good video, except the kid walking the Ion failed, miserably. Then again, I never could tune the ion trigger to where I could walk best, cause the ion's trigger sucks. So he might -might- just be like me.

EDIT: ^^^ It will stop splatter and pieces of shell flying at the persons head, which is what they want it to do.

You don't wear a mask to stop splatter and pieces of shell.

i agree completely on the chrono thing. first of all, the bag was off before they put it under the net, and anyone could have accidentally shot while doing that. second, i have seen paint shells go through netting, and theyre sharp and can still cause serious damage. and third, if the net isnt secured down, a ball would just push it out of the way.
