What Really Paintballer would play Airsoft. I myself don't like that I can't tell if I hit that person or not. Am I the only one that just would never play Airsoft?

Back in ye olden days... we actually had an airsoft section here.

I can name several old players that pre-date your time here apparently that loved airsoft.

Why would a paintball player try airsoft? To have a different experience.

Both games have similarities, both have differences. There are good and bad points to each. I have enjoyed airsoft a time or two for diversity, but I prefer paintball when it comes to a recreational activity.

Airsoft is overall superior as a training tool for those who want to practice FOF or other "real world" type trainings.

The two are not the same animal, so you cant judge them on the same plains. Personally I consider the airsofters to be more hard core, more milsim..as oppose to paintball as more of a sport. In the end, its jus perosnal preference, it doesn't always come down to hows guns/balls are bigger.

Paintball, airsoft, laser tag, super soakers... Play. Have fun. That's all that counts.

Personal preference though, I'd have no problem giving airsoft a try. With a good group of people, being able to see a hit doesn't matter. It's no different than playing outlaw ball. With no refs to check hits how do you know you really hit someone?

Thing is though, here in Canada is hard to get good quality guns. Poor quality equipment severely impacts how the game is played and enjoyed.

Player attitudes are also a factor. If you need to bash someone just for the game they play then maybe you should be playing anything.

We'd used to play in my friends house. Pump/Single Shot only. We mostly just messed around though. I know some kids that got serious in to it, but they were a little too serious for me.

Locally the airsofters use and help build on our paintball field. Paintballers and airsofters around here roll back and forth supporting each others events.

I have played airsoft many times now. I tend to go a bit off the deep end with my gear though. Far more "pretty" looking gear for my airsoft kit than paintball. All black gear based on a SWAT look with a full metal M4 and Beretta 9mm.

What I have found is that there simply is far less fun factor in airsoft. So much emphisis on the look and feel of the mission takes away from the wild and furious feel of paintball.
For this reason I play far more paintball.

Going home clean after a full day of play is nice sometimes....but going home covered in paint and crust is a great feeling!

To each their own however and many of us cross over and find what works for us.

I play every now and then, all my friends play it..no one around here plays paintball anymore..after I quit due to financial problems, pretty much every body else followed suit.

Air soft Is way cheaper, not as fun mind you, but I can actually go all milsim without filling noobish

I completely dropped paintball due to the ridiculous cost and none of my friends willing to pay for it and they all played airsoft so naturally I followed. I still maintain that paintball is more fun however airsoft, in my opinion, is more accessible at least in my area.
