Hey guys,

I just got back into paintball after a 3 year break =/ Anyways, I'm still pretty new to the game, probably only about 10 games in lifetime. I'm using a Tippmann Alpha black.

The games I've played so far have only been against friends who all use semi-auto markers. However, I'm starting to play against guys with burst and auto at the local woodsball field. They lay paint like no tomorrow. How do you suggest I play against these guys because they clearly have an advantage over me.

Thanks

Partially true. They may have a fire-power advantage, but not a tacticle advantage. If you keep your eyes open, you can easily out flank them since they are so possessed with laying paint down on you. Just don't be scared!

Well I mean if I start off at a bunker and they are pummeling me, and I make a run for it, they'll keep following me so its hard to flank anyone that has full vision on me

They have full vision, but they need to reload and such. Take that oppurtunity to move and shoot at their bunker while moving, this will keep them pinned in while you move. Then hide in your new bunker. They will pop out and fire where you just were, and now hopefully yoiu have a good vantage/shot on them or can move unseen.

Also, try to move so that there is always a bunker between you and them, so they have to aim well or move to hit you. If you just straight run into a firing lane, you can expect to eat some balls.

I also enjoy taunting them about the paint they go through. "You wasted all that paint on little old me and you missed? Heck, I'm not that good" "Hey, that sounded like $4.00 of paint just now." They want to hit you all the more after a bit and it'll allow the rest of your team to flank. It's pretty much the "Designated Idiot" role, but I enjoy it.

1v1s can be difficult. However, the second they start shooting at someone else is the time to move and flank. They easily get focused in on where they're firing so they are oblivious to whats going on around them. The sound of their shots also covers up the footsteps you make.

For 1v1s I like to give them something to shoot at. I usually stick my head out without shooting to get them focused on a single side of the bunker. They usually get pretty comfortable and start to expose more of themselves because you aren't returning fire. Then you can go to the other side of a bunker and nail them with a snapshot.

I often play pump and getting someone out who has significantly more firepower than you do is a very rewarding experience.

I enjoy yelling, "keep throwing it, keep throwing it." I think Tyger did it in one of his videos, but I'm not sure on that one. I'm not trying to emulate Tyger, or copy him, I just like to taunt using those particular words. If you're pinned down just poke out in random spots and pop a few shots off. You're bound to get lucky one of these times.

I like to tell them that they can shoot over 200 rounds at me, and every one will miss, yet I can take one or two shots and take them out.

What if they dont suck hard and can shoot and reload? Or they just dont pound your bunker and post it?

Just learn to snap shoot and know when to move.

Same thing you'ld do against anyone else: shoot them before they shoot you.

Rate of fire isn't that big an issue - they're just burning paint faster.

I agree.

Also agreed.

Just because they can lay down a lot of paint doesn't necessarily mean that they can actually hit you with it. They can shoot all 200 some paintballs they have, but all it takes is ONE to get you out. Too many people lose sight of that fact...

relax man. I have been swamped in 2 vs 1, and I play pump, yet i can get them out. Its called a plan. I could go out and make a plan there on the spot, it might work, it might not. It takes practice, alot of practice. When i first played, i was terrified of people using ions and electro's because they can shoot fast, now, i know that they rely on the clutch of their firepower, and when you start hitting them, they get nervous. all it takes is one ball to take somebody out, not 200
