I have mixed thoughts about this... but they all depend on the enviorment. action ghillie ive seen work wonders in leafy bushy type fields and enviorments, while the jute/burlap works wonders in wooded areas where theres not much bushy or leafy coverage. but for my personal suit i use, its a mix between 3D camo and traditional jute/burlap. tends to work pretty well. but overall i would say burlap suits are better even though they tend to be heavier.
Burlap or Action Ghillie its a good question. really Action Ghillie provides concealment and it is able to vent access heat from your body very quickly because it is relatively light. Burlap is heavy and although it 'blends' in with the environment much better than most other systems it is extremely hot and very limiting in terms if movement. but I think its required that burlap suits be sprayed down because they burn very easily. SO really there are pros and there are cons to both of these items in question and ultimately it comes down to personal preference.
There are ghillies that look like a burlap ghillie but use synthetic materials instead. I have one and it's really nice, you can wash it and get the paint out, and it won't burn. I even plucked a strand and tried to lite it on fire once, to no avail.
