Does anyone make an adapter that will allow you to use a standard hopper on an A5 or X7? It almost appears that if it was shaped just right, the finger protruding from the side of the marker could be left in place. It would be nice to have the option to use any hopper, Cyclone or other. I have seen the Rip Clip adapter. With it, you have to take off the finger. Speaking of the finger on the A5 or X7, why didn't they just incorporate that into the Cyclone housing? That seems simpler and would allow for easier attachment of adapters for all types of hoppers.

Answered my own question. Someone does make one. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Force-Products-Tippman...=item335a0dca81

Well I guess there is something out there for everyone. I really don't understand this products purpose but obviously there is a demand. Why someone would take off a cyclone feed and replace it with a standard force fed hopper is beyond me.

I would imagine you have chopped balls every so often huh? The coolest thing I've always thought with the cyclone is it's mechanical timing to feed only when it needs to be. The only other way to accomplish this is to have eyes on your gun.

You discount the possibility that the cyclone itself is inherent to fail...where a feedneck does not [unless broken or stripped].

My cyclone will not...and I repeat NOT...turn with HPA. Regardless of tank, HP tank reg immaterial...my cyclone does NOT turn with HPA AT ALL.

It works 100% great with CO2 but I don't always use CO2. Since the marker HAS to work ALL the time with ANY air source I use, I needed something that guarantees me a feed for every shot.

Now the reason I mounted the Warp on my A5 is because first...well...
1. it's never been done before
2. It gets the hopper off the top/front of the marker and lowers my profile.
3. allows me to use my Red Dot [now that there's no hopper in the way]
4. Allows me to use any hopper I choose.
5. Doesn't block my view and I can see the entire field in front of my marker.

EDIT: forgot to respond about chopping.

I've never had a chopped ball in my A5 ever. I had it stock and then added the squishies..aftermarket ratchets...QEPH...piston...rounded [deburred] hook...all of it. Never chopped and never crushed a ball in the cyclone itself.

if i could have replaced the cyclone on my A5 when i got it back in 02 i would have...and i'd probably still be using a tippmann today. That cyclone failed on me more then anything in the world...eveyr day of play it failed...every day of play...guarenteed. Forced me away from tippmann and the A5...went to a cocker with a normal feedneck and NEVER looked back. Now i just use Stock Class feeds on 90+% of my markers...much easier...no jamming...no parts to break

I like my cyclone and the low pro hopper. I think regular hoppers are goofy speedball style. But some of the markers they are on kick my a-5s asss. Ha Ha Ha
My buddy has a cocker that is awesome. He has eyes in his hopper that can't see dark balls and it is screwing up all the time. The only complaint about my cyclone is that it blends old balls. I'm getting squishy paddles soon.

regular hoppers have been around far longer then speedball. :) The first hopper fed Semi Auto was from PPS, and it was far from a speedball marker

Hoppers are far from just speedball. Pumpers use em too...mainly gravity feed ones at that.

That surprises me that they break so often for you guys. I've used one A5 almost exclusively and my cyclone has only broken once on me.

Guess it's more common then I thought. Still I think you should just get a new cyclone then resort to a force fed hopper on an A5 that or get yourself a tourney gun.

a] They shouldn't break at all. I mean the cyclone was supposed to eliminate "electro hopper" problems and it hasn't. yours broke once...shouldn't happen at all, right?

b] so...instead of using what I have here already...for my tourney markers....I should drop more money on a part that is supposed to eliminate these problems all together? Nah...I'll use what I already have because I KNOW they work.

Like you found on ebay, there are some Gravity feed adapter out there.

also
  • qLoader is an option
  • BT RipClip Adapter is an option (Flasc and I think Trinity makes one), I love my RipClip's performace (all year, not just summers...I hear the cyclone turns into a paint blending system in the winter).
  • or you could always mod a 98 adapter to fit (prob take a little welding).
OR get yourself a different marker.

Yeah, but the cyclone is slow, prone to jamming and leaking. I know it breaks a lot because we had more A5s with cyclone feeds than any other marker. We had more broken tippmans roll through than broken ions.
