Id say never

thats a shame

i have found out that for me crawling gives me an advantage over the enemy, it gives me a defensive position in areas of any ground growth, and puts me in a good position to start an attack ÷

I only go prone if it is immediately necessary, like when my team lays down cover and I move up the left/right while the other team is distracted (or when I come around a corner and start getting shot at). Other than that it's on my feet.

I don't usually lay down for 10 minutes at a time, but over a long game perhaps

yes being prone does have its advantages like avoiding a lot of fire but its big disadvantage is that its noisie on some terrain.

30 minutes tops, while waiting for an ambush

i love to crawl, there's natural snakes that have been eroded by rain and melting snow running through the whole mountain, it's like a crazy network
the longest i've actually crawled couldn't have been more than 5 minutes though

I can crawl on the ground when I'm by myself. When I'm playing paintball I prefer to play paintball.

holy necro post batman! but anywayz I always crawl on this one particular spot on my favorite field at my local field. Its a very short crawl but its just because they have this tiny bump in the ground next to a bunker so I always end up making that crawl so i can further my flank to the tape and its close to the 50 so paints always whizzing over my head its such a fun spot!

I have yet to crawl during a game. Maybe I'd get hit less if I did...

I tend to avoid it unless I'm playing really hardcore, such as an intense moment in woodsball, or playing snake in speedball.
1) Because I play sleeveless, and don't own elbow pads yet.
2)Pumping stockclass is hard while prone.

I go prone if I'm in an open field type area with very little cover. Over where I'm at, there's a field with what looks like a prarie/grassland that fades into the forest. This prarie/grassland looking area has maybe 2-3 spools for cover. If you can't get a spool; guess what?! Your stuck in the open! Don't just stand there, go prone! Either that, or run back into the forest and be out of range of the enemy (meaning, you can't shoot them either.). Prone is also good if you want to hide, but being prone for long periods of time can hurt sometimes (specifically the elbows.).

after the last game i played i realized that crawling is important, it saved me and my teammates when we had fire comeing at us from almost 360 degrees, we got hit, but we put up a good long fight, ecspeacially with the medics help

I crawl in the snake, but even in there I'm not in the prone position. I don't crawl in woodsball pretty much ever, I mean, one time I crawled through a creek...but that's about the extent of it.
