Hey all, Smart Parts debuted two new products out at the SPPL National Finals.

First was collapsible paint pods, think collapsible camping cup style, but holds about 120 balls. Great for saving space while travelling.

Second is one of their new markers, the "SP1". This a low end electro marker (sub-ion), no eyes, semiauto only, impulse threads, single trigger, spool valve design (similar to Ion/Shocker), with rails, flat black finish, regulator designed to look and feel like a military style front vertical grip, bolt out back design. I think seven of the Smart Parts factory SPPL team used these markers for the SPPL event, where they took first place for the second year in a row. Best part is, these should retail for about $160 and have blackheart board upgrade available in the future (which will also give them eyes and fire modes I believe).

Whee!

I shot a few rounds out of it and it was great considering the price. I think this is going to be my new backup marker when they're available.

It's ok. My first bone of contention with it is simply the fact that with a mil-sim marker, why oh why did they stick the feedneck right in the middle??!!?! I mean if it does not have eyes, put it off to the side.

I hope it will have the ability to upgrade to a double trigger and double trigger guard. I'll have to wait and get one in my hands to see what I think of it. At least it's not as clunky as the SP8!!

Yeah, it was *much* lighter then my SP8 (and smaller) and a lot smaller and lighter then a X7. There are plans for an upgrade for eyes (blackheart). I looked at it quickly, but I seem to remember thinking it looked like the trigger guard appeared to be removable which indicates to me that there will probably be a double trigger option soon.

A few of the SmartCorp guys were chuckling about how their second finger kept tapping the grip because they were so used to double triggers. haha.

It dont look too bad.... i think i would rather have an Ion, but, then again, i have never shot this one...... Looks like a Tac- One from AGD, if you ask me.

Many people don't like having angled feenecks, especially speedball guys. I can't stand them either. Why would you need it? It's not like you look right down the top center of the marker. I always tilt my marker into the bunker along with many other people, so having it stick out to one side is going to get in the way or force you to tilt your marker more when snap-shooting in that direction. IF it was angled left, and you snap-shhot left, you would have your whole hopper sticking out there.

Yup, that's correct (so much info about it I must have missed that factoid).

Either way, a nice touch for them to include.

Someone analyze the marker then... internals, feel, accuracy, gas consumption...

I don't want this to be an Ion with a shroud...

did I die for a second there?...
