Hi!

Blackwater Paintball in Monticello, FL is having a wholly homebrewed (that is, hosted AND written by the park owners and staff) scenario game on May 3rd.

Information is here. I'm not part of the staff and am not organizing the game in any sense but I figure I can do a service by increasing awareness!

Blackwater's website can be found at the following address and has all pertinent info on the entry page:

http://www.blackwaterpaintball.com/

Note the bit about the cash prize. Invite friends!

Hope to see you there!

(This post can also be found in the scenario/field discussion forum.)

EDIT: For convenience's sake, I'll post the entirety of the write-up here:

The leader of task force 1 has eliminated the leader of
the Maddigucci cartel family. The largest drug cartel in
America. Task force one thought they were done with the
war on drugs. Little did they know his daughter only
known as the Snow Queen has returned to take over the
family business and get revenge on task force 1.

Come join us May 3rd for some great paintball fun.
Prepaid registration includes 1 case of paint entry and
air for only $75.00. Day of the game is $95.00.
Break down prices $10.00 air $15.00 entry and $50.00 per

Written by : Blackwater Paintball Productions

Where is Monticello.....?

Who is reffing...?

Who are the commanders...?

What are the rules...?

Not trying to be a jerk, just asking some questions.

Haven't heard of you folk's. How long you been around...?

What makes your field special...?

Their field is just north of Tallahassee. I played their Red Dawn scenario about a year ago. The refs were all with BWR's field. I believe they use the GSRP ruleset. Great bunch of players/owner. No problems while I was there and it's only about a 2.5-3hr drive for me.

Yep

A great bunch of guys. i played with them at Old River a couple of years ago. The field looks great. Need to get up there to play.

They should do well, very heads up players, who follow the rules as players.

Good luck on the game.

Well that's just weird. Hopefully he'll post an update about the field. I guess either his forum clock is set wrong or he went into the future to find the field closed. :ghillie:

Well, poop. :P

I called them and they said that yeah, they're closed. Shutting down. For now, at least.

They didn't say for how short or long. Dad says this is happening a lot with businesses nowadays and that they usually do it to find a new way to raise enough funds to re-reach the break-even point financially. So there's good room for hope.

I only got to play with them for a relatively brief period of time, but they're good men who ran a good field.

Here's to hoping that they will re-open once more. Bless!

That bites, last time I went there for a scenario, they mentioned betting out of the biz after that scenario. Then I heard they were back in, and open, and now back out. Good guys, and a really nice field. Only place around tallahassee, fl for about 2 hours now, except a little renegade place.
