first off your gonna spend a ton of cash if your gonna try and make a tippmann quiet and gas efficient haha. trust me. get a reg. a new barrel. I recommend J&J only cause I swear by those but, check out the C-Series, and switch to HPA for consistency and thats about as far as it goes.

good luck

For gas efficiency you could try to mod your cyclone feeder internals (Try Here) or you could just get rid of it all together and put a q-loader (warning: they're a permanent change). One version of q-loaders I liked is this One. You could also try to change the A-5 internals, but from what I've heard they might make the A-5 more gas efficient but they make it loud as hell, so maybe you could try to change just the front bolt (there was a test done some time ago Here's the link).

Hope is helps.

Put felt on the front of the rear bolt... make sure its hardish type felt that won't get a hole through it too fast (I used rubber and felt both lasted one game so I gave up). Also try teflon taping your sear or the area on the bolt where the sear catches it. Good luck.

Trying to quiet down an A-5 is almost a waste of time. The nature of the internals and the marker itself are loud, if you want a quiet sniper marker get an Ion and upgrade the hell out of it then you will have a quiet marker our light gunner has one and its almost silent.
Upgrade the A-5 all the way as far as the internals goes, polish it and get,
JCS Red hot Power tube
Orange-Howitzer bolt
Some sort of QEV (quick exhaust valve)
T-tech-Vortex, Cyclone feed upgrade
T-tech-Lightning rod, manual feed push rod upgrade
An after market velocity adjuster (you will need this after all the internals upgrades)
E-grip of your choice (WAS, APE)
Barrels... you need to figure that one out for yourself, I use a Freak, Flat line, Special ops G-36, Tippman 18 in, stock.
Hopper... Your choice.
Do this and you will have one bad butt Heavy gunner A-5.

TechT Vortex Mod
TechT Lightening Rod
TechT QEPH

These three mods will increase the performance of your A-5's stock cyclone feed. They enable faster shooting, slightly better efficiency, and they work great overall with the E-Grip.

Here's my A-5's parts list. I think the whole setup is just about perfect.

A-5A2 Air Through Kit
E-Grip w/ WAS Board
TechT Vortex
TechT Lightening Rod
TechT QEPH (Black)
C-Series 16" w/ Devastator tip
X-7 Hopper
Flattop Rail
TPG M2000 30mm Red Dot

With your choice of hopper, the 450 Rd, I'd go with a Lapco Offset Mount, so you can add a Dot Sight if you so choose. The Offset Mount enables you to see clearly without the hopper obstructing view.

Also, a good choice, firing rate-wise, go for the APE Rampage Board w/ the Power Shot Solenoid. Be sure to get an APE Trigger (The Milsim Single Trigger is a good choice) to get the full effect out of the Rampage Board.

Palmers stabilizers work with both air and CO2.
