For all they guys who "need" 3 1/2" Magnum shells for "long range" work (100 yards) , just get buckshot.

They are easier to catch if they are dead.

More "useful advice" - they are really easy to catch in the frozen food section of your local supermarket, and they are already plucked, dressed, and ready to go. :P

Basically, turkeyz is dum, but they have good survival instincts, so don't forget your good camo, your call, and a comfortable blind (with seating) as you might be waiting a bit. What are you shootin' with?

Happy hunting.

Do you use a mouth call, or a box call? How much have you practiced with it? Making your calls realistic is a very big part of turkey hunting. I have called them in close, then changed the call a little, and you can watch them just turn and walk away withou another glance.

Just always remember- although the most exciting, the shot is the smallest part of the hunt.

Cool, my season started on the March 28th.
i rolled one opening day, i was pretty pumped!

I would Recommend Preston Pittman Game Calls very nice box and mouth calls
The Turkey i shot opening day i used a primos double with v cut mouth call so i like it alot its raspy, like an old boss hen

Tips: Remember to aim, i know a bunch of stories of people forgetting to aim because they were so excited
if you use a box, scrathbox, slate, or glass call, keep them down by you legs and use them with minimal movement, i scared one off saturday while using my scratchbox, it saw my hands moving and took off(i didnt know it was there until it started running off)

set up in a good area, you need to be able to see 180 degrees and 50yrds off(does that make since)

Got any Questions lemme know

Hmm. You guys must not have areas with lots of turkies... I could just go out on the river bottom with mt .22lr rifle and bag a turkey in less than an hour. No need for a shotgun... I know how to aim.

Lucky duck. I've got too much of a gag reflex and everytime i try using mine I automatically start to gag lol it kinda sucks cause i heard mouth calls tend to work the best if your in a position where u need ur hands to hold ur gun while calling them in a little closer

Any turkey within 100 yards is not safe! I can't really shoot much further than that with irons... i need my eyes checked again.
