great advice on the hide, but one thing that you must also keep in mind is the removal from the hide if needed. You may find the perfect place to hide, and get your opponents, but what happens if you are found out??? A sniper must always keep in mind an escape route, and keep that available to them at all times. You also need a back up place to hide in a pinch when needed. Other than that, a great post, lots of great info there. Just remember your escape routes too, and your camo can help with that if you use these above mentioned techniques properly. Just my 2 cents worth

I love hiding in the open, i.e. no bushes or trees, if I can just find some high grass, 1-2 feet high. People will walk right up to you since they don't expect you to be lying right in the open. You have to keep your marker at an angle so they don't see your hopper or head sticking up. Also, you have to shoot when they aren't looking or you will be found easily and be easy prey, unless there are only a few of them and you can take them out.

Roll your feet heel to toe. And avoid twigs and such. Make sure you don't focus too much on the ground, though.

Walk on the outside of your boot..less contact makes less noise. And like Jedi mentioned. Heel to Toe. Make like a Indian and cut those crackers throats...........er.....

another thing is when ur crawling push with ur feet. try not to pull to much with ur elbows its kinda noisy and requires quite a bit of movement.

nice post, but heres my two cents:

as far as the content, its spot on. i cant (and wouldnt) change anything written here. just remember....sometimes the most obvious hides for a sniper should be avoided. you can also use that as a decoy spot (hide a shirt or something on the ground leaving some visible while youre a bit to the right or left of that spot). i know this is more of a tactic, but it needs to be known.
Sometimes the best strategies are made while being shot at.

the only people that will tell the truth are drunks and children

with all the arguing about paintball snipers, it makes me wonder why i even bother to shoot them.

Is a sniper in hand worth two in the bush? For those who know this proverb, i think its arguable. lol.

great post but with one exeption. I do not agree about the black I beleive a ghillie does require little black not lots but a little. But then again everyone has there own preference and knows what works for them.

Excellent post. its kinda important to know, just like you were talking about, store bought ghillie........chances are......won't work great. Store bought ghillie will hardly ever match your surroundings well, so it helps to make your own if you have the skill. The AG works awesome and is light (I have some) but you'll probubly want to buy some density upgrades specially patterened ( desert, marsh, dense) for your woods. that is a great point you don't hear much about in other topics, so nice job. :) :)

I'm still kind of new at this forum but I feel that to be a good sniper you need to bee acurate, i doesent matter how accurrate your gun is you still may niss but you are the one that needs to be accurrate not your gun, but you need to make one shot kills and if you miis stick to cover and move to another location. Even if you hit your target you need to stealthly move to another location. :ghillie:

Nice post, but may I make a suggestion to add to the first post. Take a thin material that blends in with you surrondings and cover te front of your scope, it is glass and therefor will reflect light.
You will never see it coming!

if you've ever gotten shot in the crotch, put this in your sig!

Shape in nature is completly random. Only humans use "shapes", so it is your job to obscure your outline. The oppenent will pick up on solid outines, and mostly of your head and shoulder area. So apply foliage, or other materials that will break your outline and keep the oppenent from looking twice.

Good point. Their are no straight lines in nature
