My friend tried going using his regular correctional eyewear glasses. I refused to take him, one because he looked rediculous, two because there was no way that his glasses would stop a paintball, yet alone a dive into cover.

did I die for a second there?...

You could have been like me and my friends and just worn shooting glasses. I learned my lesson though when I got shot in the eye. The doctors said I was the luckiest person they knew because it wasn't damaged except for some pieces of paintball floating around the outside of my eye.

I've learned my lesson, and when anyone ever plays at my field, it is mandatory that they wear a mask - or they are banned.

One time when i was playing and one of my friends shot a guy in what we thought was his face mask. The guy droped immediately and did not get back up, so we went to see what was wrong. It ended up he was wearing ski goggles and a bandana to cover the lower part of his face and his nose was broken and there was a nice puddle of blood on the ground. This is why you should always wear a full face mask.
If every thing is undercontrol, then you are not going fast enough!

I have seen people wear ski goggles at outlaw fields; which isn't too bad, bu tit leaves your face unprotected and it looks pretty stupid.

EDIT: spelling

gotta wear goggles for pb, no excuses. anything else wont do the trick. i have never personally seen anyone stupid enough to not wear goggles made for pb.my brother told me one day when i wasn't there a dude was playin in sunglasses. The number one retard move i see is people taking goggles off after they are hit and are still on the field (only in outlaw) not smart not smart at all.

Would that kid happen to have been on drugs the moment he thought he could use that?

About 7 years ago I worked at a church with a small stand of woods in the back. One day we had a couple of kids run in saying their friend was hurt so I go out and check on them and he had gotten hit in the face just below his eye. I took him inside and helped him wash off while waiting for the parents to show up. He had some pretty good bruising just underneth the eye but I dont know if there was any damage done to the eye itself. I got off of work about a half hour after that and the other kids were still out there so I took out my equipment and gave them a long lecture on wearing masks when playing.

try explaining to a punter that his mask is actually upside down and he argues with you, telling me, at the time a field ref for 2 yrs that i didnt know what i was talking about.

also had to explain to some teenage girls, that the mask was not a fashion accessory and that if they didnt keep it on their face i would have to escort them off the field
dont make people a priority, who are only making you an option

That's actually really pathetic... I don't even know how you could wear a mask upside down and think that it's correct that way.

At our outlaw field anyone who takes off their mask is automatically out as well as everyone around them.

We did have someone try and play in swimming goggles and a sweatshirt wrapped around his face once. We made him borrow a mask before he could play
