I ran into an application on my iPod called "Local Concerts" and it made me think of how the Brigade game finder worked...

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...=8&s=143441

So why not find a way to link a Brigade App to the current Brigade game finder system - and have it give you notifications on your iPhone/iPod?

The concert one lets you set distance, and it finds concerts that are nearby soon after they are set dates. This application could make it easier to keep up with local games, and help with directions on the fly - one could also offer a link that gives a less abbreviated description, etc.

Please - offer other input :)

And unfortunately, no, I know nothing about programming and could not produce this myself :)

It would be a sweet idea!

But would require a lot of work and not a lot of profit.

A bit of poking around online... It seems you need Objective-C (a programming language that's a variant of C) in an application-development program called XCode to make an app. It also seems that you'd need to pay to join the apple Development Program unless you're doing it for jailbroken Touches/phones.

But it would be an great idea, especially if it also automatically told you when big games and scenarios were happens and maybe even the results.

Well, there's always the option of 3rd party advertising to help fund it; as well as extra advertisement for SpecOps in general...

Plus you can charge for said app if you want, though I imagine less people would use it seeing as it is free on the internet.

And yeah, the Concert App actually did have a setting to notify you of new concerts (ie. vibrate, etc.) plus it shows on the screen as a small number on the corner of the app how many new concerts are in the area.

I can do all of it, just give me full access to the brigades coding, databases, all the info I'd need.

Do I expect that to happen? no.

Ya know......I don't doubt that the app would sell, esp to users who frequent the game locator often. One key element I think would add to the success of this app: the ability to upload games to the game locator.

Think about it....you're not just going to use it to check on games in your area.....but suppose you went on a road trip and thought you'd like to play a game while you're there? Game Locator!

I think if you had this app, more people would add their games to the game locator, more fields would advertise their scenarios this way, etc.

All it needs is a really easy interface and excellent useability.

Tippmann did yes, but unless they put something in the update all it shows it places to play/buy gear.

And that was after I originally made this suggestion :P
